Marcelino Ratunil parks and Plaza is located at Zone 1 Barangay Poblacion Manticao, Misamis Oriental. This place is surrounded with different kinds of establishments just like Eateries, Municipal Hall, Barangay Hall, Gymnasium and Hospital, Church and Houses. The plaza is also near at the coastal area of Municipality of Manticao. From Manticao Public Market, it needs to walk a few Meters away and it can be abled to ride tricycles and motorcycles at fair costs up to 10 Pesos per passenger. It is quitely far from Main road or National Road and it needs to walk a few minutes before reaching the place. Different kinds of vehicles like big trucks and private vehicles can also pass in here because the Provincial road here at the Plaza also connects to the main road.
There is a part of the Public Plaza were the name of the Municipality was placed. This big letters can easily seen by the visitors who will visit the place and it is made of light materials and concrete. To make this unique structures be highlighted during at night, they also installed colorful lights facing to this big letters. Children can also sit and climb in this thing and perfect for taking of pictures. Each letter contains different kinds of colors, this can help the materials used to constructed by not easily broke.
The Name of the Public Plaza was also placed in here many years ago already. Marcelino, a Man who donated the place nd developed into a Public Plaza. For the past many years when this place was totally developed into a Public land and decided to make it a Park, not only in this place but also in the area were Municipal hall, Gymnasium and Church has been built. The Name is made of metals sticking on the Concrete wall coated with white paint to make it highlighted.
Near at the Plaza is one of the oldest church found here in Manticao, Misamis Oriental the Iglesia Filipina Independiente Church or IFI. The church built very unique and it is made of solid concrete and it can also easily located because it is near at the Provincial Road. It has been built and renovated many years ago surrounded with Ornamental plants and tall trees.
This tall flagpoles are also placed at the middle of the Public Plaza were lots of flags hanging on it. Everytime when we celebrated Independence day, a total of 8 Flagpoles are used in which the flags were placed. To make this thing not leaning to the ground, a big solid concrete blocks built at the poles to make it as a weight.
Everytime when there are Programs and activities held here at the Park, this big and unique water fountain is also in operational. This structure has been built here many years already and they only added some structures like metal fence so that children can't come inside of fountain. There are also lots of colorful light installed here facing to the fountain also so the water can create a reflection of the colors of the light here. It is surrounded with ornamental plants and flowers, concrete pathways and a concrete bench.
There are also lots of big trees planted on each side of the Public Plaza. Some of this are Pine trees and acacia trees. This can help the place cool and relaxing because of its shades. Every Christmas season, lots of christmas lights also put and hanged on those trees branches.
A great statues of our National Heroes are also in the Public Plaza. It is made of solid concrete, and a concrete pathways near at the structures. Visiting Marcelino Ratunil Parks and Plaza is perfect especially for those who loves Provincial adventures.
