Hello my @worldmappin family. I hope everything goes well. Come and join me as I share to you my another camping experience at CAMP AWOL.
There's something about the word "AWOL" that suggests rebellion, it is a break from the expected, an escape from duty. That's exactly what Camp AWOL was for me: not just a trip into the wilderness, but a journey away from stress, screens and the noise of everyday life. Camp Awol is in the misty hills of Real Quezon Philippines, this hidden paradise reconnected me to something I didn't realize I had lost, a sense of wonder.
My trip to Camp AWOL begal like most adventure do with spontaneous decision. Life in the city had become a monotonous blur of deadlines, notifications and digital burn out. I needed an out. I had heard whispers of Camp AWOL a place where you could go off-grid, sleep under the stars, and experience nature in it;s raw and unfiltered beauty.
The journey from Manila to Real was a mix of anticipation and beautiful scenery. As we moved farther from the city, buildings gave way to tress and the air grew lighter. A rough winding road leading into the forest was almost a magical one.
Arriving at Camp AWOL was like stepping into a post card. The camp is tucked among tall trees with cabins and tents scattered across platforms built into a forested hill. There is a cool breeze whispered through the leaves, birds from branches and somewhere in the distance, I could hear water rushing through a creek.
We set up our tent, prepared everything before we explore and discover the beauty of the place. We had a hard time to prepare everything but after all the prepaprations, it's all worth it.
In Camp AWOL there is no wi-fi. No phone signal. No artificial noise and yet I still felt connected than I had in moths. Days at Camp AWOL is very different. We crossed swaying hanging bridges.
Crossing those hanging bridges offer both function and thrill. It felt like stepping into an adventure film and each step creaking with excitement.
We also waded into cool streams. The water was imposibbly clear, reavealing polished rocks and tiny darting fish below the surface. Without a second thought, we peeled off our shoes and stepped in. It was cold but a kind of cold that wakes you up from the inside. There is also a waterfall that will really made you feels so amaze.
What makes the greenery at Camp Awol truly how special is how inviting it is. Here, green is more than a color, It is a state of mind.
Camp Awol is more than a place to pitch a tent, it is where grown-ups remember how to play, and kids discover a little they need to be happy. The camp invites you to leave behind the pressure of real life and rediscover the pure joy of being present.
A view from our tent at night.
So go ahead, pack light. Forget your worries and come to find the version of you that still believe in camp magic. CAMP AWOL is waiting and out there waiting to be discovered. Camp Awol might just be your perfect retreat.
