During our visit to Bassano del Grappa, we passed by the Civic Museum, located in the city center... Before having the baby, we often went to museums, but of course, we had stopped going because how could a small child be interested? However, we decided to give it a try to see how it would go.

Founded in 1855, the museum is located inside a historic building, Palazzo Bonaguro, and is divided into several rooms spread across two floors, with exhibits arranged chronologically.
At the start of the tour, there are these stunning statues, really very beautiful.

The first sections are the archaeological ones, which display Roman and prehistoric finds from the area.

As you move through the rooms, you reach the one dedicated to medieval and Renaissance art, which hosts valuable works, including paintings and sculptures.

At the end, there are spaces dedicated to contemporary history, with artifacts from the World Wars.

The upper floor offers different exhibitions from the lower one, which is more focused on history. Here, we have the artistic section, with rooms that display significant works of Venetian painting.

This floor also features works by Renaissance and Baroque artists. Among the noteworthy pieces, several paintings and frescoes stand out, depicting religious events.

Don’t ask me the names of the artists or for explanations because with the baby, it’s already a miracle we managed to look at it decently. It was impossible to stop and read or delve deeper. Anyway, overall, it’s a nice museum, interesting to visit.
