Still in East Aceh, this time I traveled to the Ba'alawi Mosque to take a short break on my way to capture some images so I can blog about them and share them with this extraordinary community.
The mosque is located in Pucuk Alue Dua village, Simpang Ulim District, East Aceh Regency. This mosque is not just a place of worship, but also a spiritual symbol and a long history of the spread of Islam in the Land of Rencong. It was founded by Habib Muhammad bin Ahmad Al Attas, a charismatic Acehnese cleric.

I also visited a mosque, not just a place of worship but a spiritual symbol and a long history of the spread of Islam in the Land of Rencong. The mosque is called the Ba'Alawi Mosque.
Located in Gampong Pucuk Alue Dua, Simpang Ulim District, East Aceh Regency, this mosque is only a minute's drive from the Medan-Banda National Highway.
You can see some of the images I shared above, where expanses of rice fields grace the eyes of those who want to visit the mosque.
For the people of Aceh, the Ba'alawi Mosque is not only a religious symbol, but also a living spiritual heritage. Every Friday, congregants from various villages come to worship, recite dhikr, and listen to sermons that always soothe the heart.

Personally, as I stepped into the mosque, I was greeted by the scent of wood and the cool air of the surrounding rice fields. I also noticed the calligraphy of holy verses adorning the interior, creating a solemn atmosphere rarely found elsewhere. The sounds of birds and the rustling of the wind blend into the calming rhythm of natural dhikr.
So, for me, the Ba'alawi Mosque offers a different experience; it offers peace, not crowds. Besides me, my friends who come here say they simply sit cross-legged in the mosque area, contemplating and enjoying the sound of the wind blowing through the surrounding coconut leaves.
This mosque was founded by Habib Muhammad bin Ahmad Al-Attas, a charismatic Acehnese cleric. According to local residents, he passed away less than 24 hours after the mosque's inauguration on Sunday, January 17, 2021.
"The Ba'alawi Mosque is my final dream, after which I will return home," Habib Muhammad bin Ahmad Al-Attas said at the time.
The beauty of the Ba'Alawi Mosque lies in its stunning simplicity. Standing amidst the rural landscape, this mosque exudes serenity for all who visit.

The dominant green and white colors on its walls reflect purity and peace, while the dark green dome signifies the spiritual splendor of the area.
And you can see some of the images I shared above, which depict the grandeur of the Ba'Alawi Mosque.
Several written notices can be seen and posted in certain places, one of which is the picture I shared above, which states that the area is a clean area, so for visitors who want to wash their feet or just clean their bodies, the notice explains to take off their shoes or sandals before going up to the floor area.
This mosque has a very spacious area, as shown in the images shared above. Hopefully, these images give you a glimpse of the condition of the Ba'alawi Mosque.
And if you see the small green dome in the distance in the image above, Habib's tomb is now located on the north side of the Ba'alawi Mosque, beneath that serene green dome. It also serves as a pilgrimage site for many worshippers from Aceh and abroad.
Furthermore, I was also impressed by the cleanliness of this mosque.
