The largest mosque of Pakistan.

in Worldmappinlast year

Ahmaddd wake up this is the statement i felt echoing in my mind while i was deep down in the realm of dreams. I tried to open my eyes and saw gigantic face in front of my eyes.

@tahastories1 you really have a large face.

Furthermore he explained me that we had a plan to visit one of the largest mosque in Pakistan while i was still on my bed but upon listening to the plan and in between trying to remember it i got up.

Well, after successfully remembering the plan I remembered that we had decided to visit Faisal mosque which is the largest mosque of Pakistan. Long story short we took a cab and reached the place in no time.

Introducing you the exterior area of mosque

This mosque has a really large area occupied well with the grassy grounds and beautiful trees. Where there is a tent shaped (which is a unique style) mosque inside.

We first decided to explore the mosque area well and after that we will spend some time here in these grounds.

We removed our shoes as it is a mandatory thing while entering our prayer home. There were many shoe racks each supervised by a group of people who take around 10pkr for each pair of shoes. Everyone shows some respect towards their sacred places.

There was a sign board with some information on it which i will provide you as we will proceed further in our blog. There are around four pools in the exterior area of the mosque which symbolise the presence of four rivers in Pakistan.

This mosque is mostly made with white marble which was imported from another country. It is something really wonderful which adds to its beauty.

Moving further there were stairs to go upwards where the mosque is present with its four tombs. I was eager to visit it but taha said to take a selfie.

There is a beautiful wonder on the upside of the mosque which is designed in a beautiful way. I will show you first that wonder and then i will tell why it is there and what beauty it can bring to mosque.

The design of this mosque was made by a Turkish architect whose name i can't remember. There are rumours that a competition of many countries was held to compete for the design of this mosque and the most unique one won. Including that this mosque will be having no dome and four unique tombs which will make it give an ancient look.

This beautiful wonder is here so that when we look through it the mosque looks really amazing. Let me show you that.

A simple image of mosque

Looking from behind that wonder

Agha khan award was given to the design of this mosque due to its real uniqueness and such a vast beautiful area.

This is the one tomb of those four tombs around the mosque. It has a length of approximately 80m and there is a silver moon on the top of each tomb to catch the attention from far away.

This mosque is located at such a place (near margila hills) that when at night time the lights are turned on it really is visible to people far away.

You can ignore this if you want but there were some empty spaces in the walls of the mosque where i said taha to take a picture of me.

Coming round that tomb we come across the second pool among those four pools i talked about before. This place leads to the library of the mosque.

This mosque isn't only the mosque but also had a university campus in the basement which is now shifted.

Exploring the interior of the mosque

On hearing the call for prayer (Adhan) which was also an indicator that the interior doors are now open we first headed towards the place where we can do wazu for the namaz. So after that we again went up but this time through the main stairs.

Not only a religious place but this mosque also serves as a tourist place and that is why hundreds of people were there and the good thing was that they were all not Pakistani but people from other countries were also sighted there by us.

This lantern is the first object which is the tourist attraction and also an attraction for the people who came there to offer namaz. It is a really large and some say it is made up of gold but actually not. It is worth millions of rupees.

The main hall also had a small fountain inside but it was not working (because of the cold weather i think).

A big calligraphy work can also be detected on the walls of the mosque in the main hall. Which is a proof of extraordinary work by the architects. This calligraphy work is also present outside the hall.

Well, people were gathering for the namaz as the Adhan was already done so i put my mobile aside and offered the prayer first.

There were are a large number of people who were there offering the namaz which cleared one thing that people don't only visit here for pictures but also do prayer. This hall is a biggest mosque hall having the capacity of accommodating 10k people at a time in Pakistan.

We again came out of the mosque after exploring the interior and offering the prayer.

giving a last touch to the exterior and sanctuary

The mosque is located in a hilly area (margila hills) which really gives a vibe of relaxation and peace of mind. I saw many people standing at the verges.

One can also get some cool breeze here and have the vibes of heaven. Because it was looking so beautiful, we then decided to go back, take our shoes back and explore sanctuary a bit more.

There four areas like that ( i don't exactly know what to call these). There were around 10,12 stone chairs and an old tree giving autumn vibes in each corner of the grassy ground.

Well, the sun was saying bye to us and so will i say to you because this was enough for today and if i again go there i will capture the library and that old university campus which was once in the basement for you people.

The mosque was made by a saudia shehzada Faisal and that is why this mosque is associated with his name. Also this shows a unity among different nations like if we think about it that (funded by Saudia, architecture from turkey, visitors from all over the world). So this mosque can contribute to a great symbol of unity for us

Decided to provide this information incase i missed any in the blog.

Well, this was all from my side.

Any picture above totally belongs to me

What a charming architecture, the kind of architecture that gives you holy vibes, it's high, white and seems to touch the sky, what an amazing place!

This mosque is designed so beautifully, catches tourists attraction due to this.

Thanks for paying a visit.

This is such a beautiful sight to behold, the mosque is so big and gorgeous.

Thanks for taking us through it.

You are welcome.

That is why a huge crowd was there because that place is capable of beholding the visitors with it's beauty.

Thanks for showing up ☺️

As a Western citizen, I'm really fascinated by mosques, they are so different from every point of view. I saw them in reality during a trip across Turkey and it really seems another world :)
This is different from every other place I've seen. I like the fact that it seems super inclusive for tourists (which means also the chance of meeting each other) and that it's surrounded by nature! What a lovely place!

Every building has its own unique charms and so does this one has. Glad that you liked the design of Faisal mosque.

Thanks for commenting

What a beautiful mosque, I really liked its design, it caught my attention that around it are the pools of the 4 rivers in Pakistan, something very significant, definitely a very pleasant place to pray and wow, it must be very big to house 10,000 people is enough, definitely the energies there must be the most pleasant, its climate must be super cool since it has a large number of trees that provide a lot of shade. They are really happy because it is very pretty. Thanks for sharing, Greetings and Bless us.

The place is located in a hilly area where there is extra amount of greenery present in the form of trees, grass. Also mountains can be seen near it. That is why the atmosphere there is always cool.

Thanks for reading it out.

Realmente es una maravilla la construcción y todo lo que lo acompaña, gracias por compartir este post porque sino, de otra maneja jamás lo hubiera conocido, que lindo debe ser recorrer, tomarse un tiempo y meditar allí.
