Valentine Is My Lover
Valentine is my lover
my sweet, cruel lover,
today we honor you,
celebrate who you are
and what you represent.
People will buy flowers, chocolates,
teddy bears, what a fcking cliché
Go to expensive dinners,
wear their best dress,
write silly poems lacking true love,
post videos of their perfect illusion.
My sweet, cruel lover,
so kind, so giving to others…
and then, there is us.
The ones in the corner,
forced to watch red passion
balloons invade our space,
our ears bleeding from empty love promises
that vanish like dust in the wind.
Ghost souls searching for a beacon
at the road’s end,
dusty books on forgotten shelves,
beautiful love stories left unread.
Burning bodies cooling down in empty showers,
lonely nights stretching into eternity.
Here we are, standing still,
watching love parades pass by,
waiting for lovers,
because the search has long come to a halt.
We are like ancient statues,
watching others live while we remain untouched.
Here we are,
lonely lovers keeping their hearts under a spell,
afraid to let them burn in their own flames.
Hearts aching each day,
beating only to keep us alive.
Souls adrift,
lost vessels in the vast sea.
Bodies seeking comfort
in heartless lovers,
drowning sorrows in
fake moans of love.
My sweet, cruel lover,
so cruel, so kind,
always keeping the promise
of forever love alive.
But tonight, we stand against you.
We, the empty ones,
the ones who have bled,
the ones who have waited.
The battle isn't over,
but now we wish for your demise.
My sweet, cruel lover,
may you drown in the curse you wove for us.
You must fall under the curse you cast upon us.
