Howdy Freewriters🤗. Allow me to take you back to a time where jigger infestations was the norm. Welcome to my Freewrite blog.

Janet scratched her toes on the rough surface. She knew that she had jiggers on her big toe. The scratch was a sign. Every now and then, out of 10 people, 6 had an infestation. Janet hid her scratching urge and her feet because she was afraid of her mother and her flea surgeon degree. Mothers were known to get rid of jiggers using a needle sterilized by fire. You can guess why Janet was afraid.
Whenever the urge to scratch came, Janet would run and hide behind their house and scratch her toes on a rough surface. One day her mother decided to follow Janet to her hiding place. Janet didn't know that her mother had sneaked behind her. She could not escape the surgery again; not after her mother had discovered she had jiggers. She had to face the needle.
