Howdy Freewriters, welcome to my 5 minute freewrite.
It was the second week in a row calling home. My intentions were to talk to my baby but again today he refused to talk to me.
"Mom, please get him on the phone," I pleaded.
In the background, I heard Mom calling him, "Jay, your mom is calling, could you please bring your little body to the phone this instant?!"
With no doubt, I heard a very faint, "No shosh, I won't. I don't want to talk to her."
I heard my mom try to persuade the little man but to no avail. He was standing his ground and declaring war.
"Mom, it has been two weeks now, won't he ever speak to me? I'm still his mom," I said, almost breaking.
"Calm down, I'm sure he will come around," Mom said reassuringly.
I could only get myself to say, "I probably deserve that" as I wished them a goodnight and got off the phone.
