Courage is needed to read a letter? He did not know his wife was pregnant as he left?
For sure the day will come the child will like to be able to say his father did something for him as well.

        Yeah, he was not really sure of what to expect from the letter, the content. Whether it is good news or a bad one. Remember, he hasn't received any for all the time he had been away. So naturally, his expectations will be raised, albeit, mixed feelings, which may come in anticipation of either a good news or a bad one. Thanks for your feedback.
