Bridgette's phone rang, jolting her awake.sluggishly, she reached for the receiver as she saw Miss Ann's name on the caller ID.
Hello, ma'am? Bridgette stammered trying to shake off the remnants of sleep.
Where are you? Her voice was firm with a hint of annoyance from her end. If i dont see in the the office in the next 35 minutes, consider yourself fired.
Her eyes widened as she scrambled out of bed. She had been on leave for two days,and her boss had been away too. what could have happened? She asked no one in particular.
Rushing to the bathroom she quickly turned on the shower and had a quick bath. Got dressed as fast as she could and dashed out the door, already running late. Navigating through the morning traffic, her anxiety grew. What will she find at the office?
Finally, she arrived at the office flustered and apologetic. But as she stepped inside, she was taken aback. The office looked different. The decor,the paintings on the wall ,everything seemed unfamiliar.
She stood frozen her eyes scanning the transformed space.
" Did you authorize this? Came Miss Ann's voice breaking the silence. Disoriented she turned no i didn't ma'am. Then you did?
Just then paul, the CEO walked in, with a calm smile on his face "i did".
Sensing the tension between Miss Ann and paul she excused herself.
