Adina was sitting next to her friend, Bethany, in the dorm, watching her put on her makeup, polish her nails, set up her camera, and prepare for the witch-burning festival.

But Adina was in her own world at that moment and was thinking about the dream she saw last night. In that dream she was a nun and she saved a wizard who was going to be killed by the monks and then she expressed her love to him, but the wizard killed her.

Bethani hit Adina's shoulder with her hand.
"Why are you staring at a spot like that? Your face is scary."

"Um, I didn't sleep well last night, I was taking a sit-up nap."

"Go and wash your face to freshen up. Then get ready for the festival, we don't have much time."

"Alright, I'll go now."

Adina got ready and then left the dormitory with her friend and went to the square where the festival was going to be held. They had made a big pile of firewood in the middle of the square and placed some big witch-shaped dolls on it.

Bethany pointed to a man selling torches.
"Stay here while I go and buy two torches."

And then she went away. Adina looked at the pile of firewood and the witch's dolls and felt an unpleasant feeling in her heart. A feeling that after a few moments turned into worry and gradually made her heart beat faster.

At this moment, someone called Adina from behind. Adina turned to face a handsome young man with long brown hair and honey eyes.

"Ma'am, I think this button fell off your dress."

Adina looked at the button in the man's hand and the empty spot on her dress.
"Ah yes."

and took the button from his hand.
"Thank you so much."

"It's an interesting festival, isn't it?"

"I don't know, I don't feel good about it. I'm just here to hang out with my friend."

"Why don't you feel good about the Witch Burning Festival?"

Adina's face got agitated.
"Because what our ancestors did to wizards years ago was a crime. Wizards were just people who had more knowledge and abilities than ordinary people. They made societies prosper in many cases. But ordinary people were afraid of their power and that's why they destroyed them."

The man was looking at her with a face that was clearly affected by Adina's words.
"I knew someone who thought like you a long time ago."

"How nice. Was she your friend?"

"She loved me."

"And were you in love with her too?"

"The feeling I had for her was gratitude, because she had saved my life."

"Oh, how interesting! Sounds like you had an exciting time with that person."

The man said in a sad tone:
"A sad affair indeed."

"Why?"

The man's eyes filled with tears.
"Because I repaid her favor by taking her life."

At this moment, Adina suddenly remembered her nightmare last night and remembered the face of the wizard she saved in her nightmare was exactly like this man's. The color drained from her face and she stopped breathing for a moment.

The man said excitedly.
"It's you, Adina, isn't it?"

Adina whispered while it was clear that she was talking to herself.
"Those things I saw in my nightmare last night really happened. Now I'm remembering everything clearly."

Her eyes filled with tears and dhe said to the man:
"Cyril, why did you kill me?"

Cyril looked down and said in a low voice:
"I'm ashamed to tell you why."

"But you have to tell me."

"Because I understood that your body has immortalizing properties. So I killed you and made an immortality potion for myself with your body parts."

Adina's eyes widened and she looked at Cyril in horror.
"You... How could you do such a horrible thing?"

Cyril looked up and said in a pained tone:
"Yes, I know, I'm a monster. It's as if I've been in hell all these centuries. My life was worse than death, but I didn't dare kill myself.

But now I see that you have returned to life in another body and I can be happy. Because you will take revenge on me and kill me with your own hands."

Adina remembered her past, how she had smiled at Cyril with a face full of love and hugged him, but Cyril had stabbed her in the heart from behind.

She started shaking with anger and hatred and as she gritted her teeth, she said:
"I saved your life, how could you be so mean and kill me for a selfish reason?"

Cyril said nothing and only tears rolled down his cheeks. At this moment Bethany turned back and was surprised to see her friend standing in front of a stranger with an angry disgusted face.
"Adina, what's wrong?"

Adina looked at the flaming torches in Bethany's hands and a thought came to her mind. Cyril noticed Adina's look at them and knew what she was thinking and the color drained from his face and terror gripped his heart, but still he didn't move.

Adina took one of the torches from Bethany's hand and threw it at Cyril. Bethany and the other people who were around shouted and Cyril started running. The fire quickly engulfed his body and he went and went until he disappeared into the heart of darkness.
