I got my receipt for the products I bought, it looks like the receipt is more valuable than the products. But it is the products you will use and not the receipt eventually, I guess the receipt still is the evidence of payment for the products.
I don't know about other places but I have witnessed police search in my neighborhood and the police requested for the receipt of a newly found good, a failure to produce the receipt will lead to a seizure of the product. This is why I also take preventative care of my receipt especially for my devices, just in case.
