Seamos virtuosos
El joven porquero acostumbraba llevar su piara al húmedo y verde prado; un día, mientras la manada paciendo estaba, el cuidador caminaba entretenido mirando al cielo sin darse cuenta que uno de los cerdos estaba al borde de un precipicio, al percatarse del riesgo extendió su cayado y logró sostenerlo, lo haló con fuerza y lo salvó.
El relato anterior fue real y deja ver la responsabilidad que todo cuidador tiene; no puede ser un buen celador quien se queda dormido en su guardia. Tampoco puede ser buen trabajador quien no cumple sus funciones; no puede ser buen maestro quien descuida a sus discípulos, no es buen médico quien no atiende a sus pacientes ni buen padre el que no está pendiente de sus hijos ni de su hogar.
"El buen pastor da su vida por las ovejas". (Juan 10,11-15)
Así como tenemos derechos, también tenemos deberes que cumplir, cuando se trata de responsabilidades no debemos eludirlas. Orientar nuestro propio comportamiento y el comportamiento del prójimo que está bajo nuestra responsabilidad es fundamental para la convivencia social; cuidar, proteger, defender, guiar, educar y enseñar son tareas de todos. La inteligencia artificial nos recuerda que la ética es un conjunto de normas morales que orientan la conducta de las personas; por consiguiente, actuar bajo su manto es fundamental para la vida y dignidad humana.
Virtud, integridad, dignidad, igualdad y equidad son conceptos elevados que poseen las personas que respetan los derechos humanos; por esa razón, actúan con prudencia, justicia, fortaleza y templanza, mostrando en sus acciones respeto, empatía y compasión.
Para concluir dejo por aquí un soneto escrito por el poeta guatireño Rafael Borges:
El DEBER
lo que es de su deber, a otro deja;
vivirá a oscuras cuanto más se aleja
de la razón de ser de su existencia.
contenga en ti la voz que lo refleja
y si ese mal, así, del bien te aleja;
de ti depende, piensa en tu conciencia.
un charlatán, que por mezquino y vano
entre desaires por el mundo cruza.
y piensas el estambre que lo hilvano,
verás que es limpia y fina su costura.
Let us be virtuous
The young swineherd used to take his herd to the wet and green meadow; one day, while the herd was grazing, the caretaker was walking around looking at the sky without realizing that one of the pigs was on the edge of a cliff. When he realized the risk, he extended his staff and managed to hold it, he pulled it hard and saved it.
The above story was real and shows the responsibility that every caretaker has; a good caretaker cannot be one who falls asleep on duty. A good worker cannot be one who does not fulfill his duties; a good teacher cannot be one who neglects his students, a good doctor cannot be one who does not attend to his patients, and a good father cannot be one who is not attentive to his children or his home.
"The good shepherd gives his life for the sheep." (John 10,11-15)
Just as we have rights, we also have duties to fulfill; when it comes to responsibilities, we should not avoid them. Guiding our own behavior and the behavior of others who are under our responsibility is essential for social coexistence; caring, protecting, defending, guiding, educating and teaching are everyone's tasks. Artificial intelligence reminds us that ethics is a set of moral norms that guide people's behavior; therefore, acting under its mantle is fundamental for human life and dignity.
Virtue, integrity, dignity, equality and equity are elevated concepts possessed by people who respect human rights; for that reason, they act with prudence, justice, strength and temperance, showing respect, empathy and compassion in their actions.
To conclude, I leave here a sonnet written by the poet from Guatireño, Rafael Borges:
DUTY
He who, through negligence,
leaves to another what is his duty;
he will live in darkness the further he moves away
from the reason for his existence.
I do not want, reader, that this sentence
contains in you the voice that reflects it
and if that evil, thus, distances you from the good;
it depends on you, think about your conscience.
He will always be the one who refuses duty;
a charlatan, who, because of pettiness and vain
crosses the world among snubs.
If you observe the structure of this judgment
and think about the thread that sewed it together,
you will see that its stitching is clean and fine.
