WHAT DO I SEE?
In the image you can see a clock marking 2 o'clock in the morning. The full moon is reflected in the living room where a dog accompanies the lonely lady sitting on the chair, resting her arms on the table. Several candles illuminate the room, where books, a painting on the wall and flowers adorn the room.

WHAT DO I FEEL?
The image brings up memories, mixed feelings of a past that will not return. Sad or depressed thoughts for something that cannot be solved at this moment. The hours pass without sense to life... Not even the faithful pet seems to calm the longing for an eternal love...

STORY
The white curtain unveils a night of full moon; entering little by little to the living room. There a lonely lady, absorbed in her thoughts, observes the moonlight but, at the same time, concentrates on the candle light, as if waiting for some unexpected answer about her boring life... It is already two in the morning and everything is in absolute silence; even the dog loses his gaze on the wooden floor, or maybe the aroma of roses has both the lady and her pet enraptured... Could it be the aroma of roses that awakens memories that she wants to live again? Or has some unknown suitor furtively left all those roses scattered around to later propose to his hidden love? The truth is that the feeling is confusing for the lady and her pet. Perhaps as the hours go by and the dawn awakens, she will get an answer... The lonely lady will soon be in the arms of Morpheus, waiting to live a forgotten dream of the distant past or to renew her life with the mystery of an unknown love...

Sort:

How sad and touching! I hope the lady gets her answer soon enough and Morpheus, who I assume is the suitor, returns to actually propose. A fine piece! You bring the scattered roses to light and give them meaning in your story. Well done. 🙂

Morpheus is a God... You know what I morphine is? That med that is named after this God.

Thank you @kemmyb for your comment and appreciation of my story.

I hope she gets the answers as she waits tonight.... For her hidden lover.

Thanks @tranquil3 for sharing your opinion

In the arms of Morpheus, she would live the life she had always longed for.

Yes, that will depend on the protagonist's intention. Thanks for sharing @yellow74

Instead of loving in the past, I think I would prefer to love in the present.

Yes, I agree with you @edith-4angelseu : it is better to live in the present. The past is gone and is not coming back

Perhaps it is Morpheus she's waiting for.

Morpheus always gives answers...Thank you for reading me @wakeupkitty

Plus he has a calming influence.
You are welcome

Quite a touching tale. I certainly hope that she's able to get over this feeling of sadness and longing. Your way with words is evocative. Nicely done!
