Five minute Freewrite day 2824: smooth as sandpaper

in Freewriters6 days ago

Hello everyone welcome to my blog

Lucy had just started her new job when she met Ryan, a colleague who seemed to take pleasure in belittling others. He would often make snide comments and try to one-up his coworkers, and Lucy developed a strong resentment towards him. Their manager assigned them to co-anchor a meeting with a potential client, and Lucy was less than thrilled about working with Ryan. Despite her reservations, she prepared thoroughly and presented her points confidently, defending her ideas with conviction.

Ryan, on the other hand, took notes during Lucy's presentation, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. When it was his turn to speak, he launched into a sarcastic tirade, questioning Lucy's ideas and trying to make himself look superior. His sarcastic tone was as smooth as sandpaper, grating on Lucy's nerves and making her want to roll her eyes. It was clear that Ryan was trying to impress the client, but Lucy wasn't having it. After the meeting, she confronted him about his behavior, but Ryan just shrugged it off.

But karma had other plans for Ryan. During a subsequent meeting, their manager took notice of Ryan's condescending attitude and decided to put him in his place. In a biting tone that mirrored Ryan's own, the manager dismissed Ryan's ideas and made him look foolish in front of their colleagues. Ryan was taken aback, realizing too late that his behavior had caught up with him. Lucy watched with a mixture of satisfaction and vindication as Ryan's facade crumbled, and he was forced to confront the consequences of his actions.
