The prompt for this week's ZAPFIC Monday challenge, "recycle", presented the opportunity to examine the possible consequences of decision making by those who don't take the steps necessary to evaluate the long-term effects of those decision. I share a flash fiction story long those lines.

My story is below:
In all likelihood, the neighborhood recycle center would close.
Devastated, residents braced for excess trash due to a reduction of city workers.
The ability to earn for those who rummaged and sold items for mere pennies ceased
No one cared.
