This week's ZAPFIC50 Friday challenge prompt "kneel" seems straightforward enough. To engage in such an activity feels a bit out of place from any activity I've had to deal with, either voluntary or not. It does speak to an individual showing respect in an occasion that warrants the action. I share a flash fiction story along those lines. The challenge was created by @felt-buzz in which only fifty (50) words are allowed for as near complete a story as you can create.
My story is below:
"You've sentenced us Michel," his sister, Audriana hissed.
"I care not. The day I kneel to that cifes-boren is the day the sun refuses to shine, and night defies darkness."
King FitzClaville smirked.
Michel didn't understand the mystic words he overheard a sorcerer chant.
A fortnight later, the headsman waited.

El tema del reto ZAPFIC50 de este viernes, «arrodillarse», parece bastante sencillo. Realizar tal acción me resulta un poco extraño en comparación con cualquier otra actividad a la que me haya tenido que enfrentar, ya sea voluntaria o no. Sin embargo, sí que evoca a una persona mostrando respeto en una ocasión que lo justifica. Comparto un relato breve en esa línea. El reto fue creado por @felt-buzz, en el que solo se permiten cincuenta (50) palabras para crear una historia lo más completa posible.
A continuación mi historia.

«Nos has condenado, Michel», siseó su hermana, Audriana.
«No me importa. El día en que me arrodille ante ese ser nacido de las cenizas será el día en que el sol se niegue a brillar y la noche desafíe a la oscuridad».
El rey FitzClaville esbozó una sonrisa burlona.
Michel no entendía las palabras místicas que había oído recitar a un hechicero.
Dos semanas más tarde, el verdugo esperaba.
