Now that would cause some contentious conversation if that were my son-in-law. Then I've give him my classic frown and "that look" that would cause him to retreat outside.
A nice story for the prompt. Thanks for sharing. Take care.

You had me going there for a minute. Now you know @jmis101 that we mothers will fight to the death 99% of the time for our children, no matter if they're wrong or not. We arrive looking for the other person to just "make their day".
What I can't fathom is Julie throwing her baby daddy under the bus like that. I think I know the reason. They had a disagreement earlier or previously. She didn't get her way, and now she's upset.
Conflict resolution at its finest. I just wrote on this yesterday. She needs to learn how to resolve issues amicably for the sake of the baby and family and not involve her mother. Well, as a mother, that's all I got to say on the matter. Poor son-in-law. But it is, what it is. He's stuck with Julie and will have to figure out her devious ways.
This was fun read. Thanks for sharing. Take care.

That's true.
I can totally understand the mother's effect and actions.
I believe she will not let the matter linger for long.
Because there is love between them both and love has a way of softening someone's heart.
Glad you enjoyed your read.
