In marathons, road marshals are very important as they will help to both ensure the safety of the runners and also help to give runners direction so that they go the correct way. However, there have been news that road marshals getting abused by runners and not being appreciated of the things they do.
It is unfortunate that such behavior exist and we ought to be nicer to these individuals whom serve the race. Even when there is rain, they will still be standing in place and ensuring that ever runners get into shelter or directed to the nearest route to finish the face fast.
The next time a road marshal direct you and say "Walk this way, please.", give them a smile or a pat on their shoulder to show them you appreciate their work.
