There's a simple moment that can sometimes make us reflect deeply: the moment we stand in the middle of a country road, surrounded by endless expanses of green rice fields. The silent asphalt road, the fresh air, and the unobstructed view stretching to the horizon. Everything feels so serene, as if time passes more slowly here.
I stood at the side of the road, gazing at the expanse of rice paddies that were about to turn yellow. A gust of wind made the rice grains sway gently, like a green ocean singing in its own natural language. The sounds of crickets, birdsong, and the occasional whistling of the wind added a harmony that can't be found in the hustle and bustle of the city.
In the distance, several people could be seen busy with their activities. Some were walking leisurely, others were pedaling old bicycles, and still others were casting nets on the rice paddy embankments. Everyone moved with the natural rhythm of village life, unhurried, unconstrained by the clock.
Moments like these made me reflect on the meaning of simplicity. That true happiness doesn't always have to be sought in grand things. Sometimes, simply standing by the roadside, letting our thoughts drift with the wind, can bring us peace. Country roads aren't just connecting villages, but also spaces of reflection where the soul can regain clarity after the fatigue of routine.
I don't know how long I stood there, simply enjoying the atmosphere. The afternoon sun slowly tilted westward, its light falling softly on the expanse of rice paddies, creating beautiful gradations of green and gold. It was as if nature were painting a giant canvas before me.
Perhaps everyone needs to travel along a country road once in a while, just to remember that life doesn't have to be rushed. There are times to pause, breathe deeply, and allow oneself to be lost in the stillness.
