“Here I was thinking he was a saint. You mean Ricky really did this to you?” Samantha asked, raising her eyebrows to confirm it was actually true.
“I will make him pay dearly. He’ll have to beg for his life. I promise he will never try this again with someone else. He will regret ever touching my sister,” she added with fire in her eyes.
“No! Samantha, don't hurt him. I still love him, no matter what he may be. He is a sweet soul,” Mira pleaded. “He apologized and promised not to hit me again.”
Samantha hit the table hard with her left hand and turned to Mira.“What do you even see in him, huh? What exactly? Tell me, Mira! You feed him, clothe him, cook for him, do his laundry, give him your body and what do you get in return? Huh? Bruises!”
“Stop it, Samantha!” Mira screamed, holding her head with both hands. She bowed her head and cried her eyes out.
“I’m telling you the truth Ricky doesn’t love you. He’s using you. Can’t you see?”
“I don’t want to believe it,” Mira mumbled. “Ricky said he loves me. That’s all I know. That’s what I want to believe.”
She sheepishly wiped her eyes and moved toward the window. That was when it dawned on her that Ricky wasn’t truly who he said he was.
A lady stepped down from a car alongside Ricky and they kissed for a while before she got back in and drove off. Ricky adjusted himself and began walking toward Mira’s door.
Mira broke down in tears. Samantha couldn’t help but say, “I told you so.”
Ricky had been squatting with Mira and it was Mira who paid all the bills. Without giving Ricky a chance to tell another lie, the sisters packed his belongings and threw them out the window.
