The problem with the world, according to Charlene, was that there weren't nearly enough optimists. Sure, bad and good existed everywhere but with the right outlook, even the darkest of clouds could be convinced to reveal its silver lining.
Her recent firing from that soul crushing job was probably just the nudge she needed to start taking her writing career more seriously. And she finally had time for both yoga and meditation now.
The boyfriend who had left the country the day after she told him she loved him was clearly not her soul mate at all. The end of that relationship had probably placed her in much greater alignment with the universe and her higher self.
The fly she had found in her soup was probably an excellent source of protein and…okay she wasn't ready to spin that one into a positive just yet. But all things considered, she had air in her lungs, a granola bar in her purse, a smile on her face and a heart full of hope and love for humanity.
She never saw the asteroid coming.
