Sugar ant

in Freewriterslast month (edited)

Those ants really used to bother me when I was little. Although they still do once in a while, my mother would always say that every time I finished eating, I should use a mop or rag to clean the ground to avoid ants gathering. I would do it, and other times I would forget. But one day I kept one cube of sugar open just to see how these ants come. They don't come alone; there is always one that will come to check before others will show up.

This ant is my favourite because, even though it can be a bit annoying, it is clever and determined. I like how they can swiftly find food, especially sweet things, and then go back to tell the others. Soon, a long line of ants will just appear, all working together to carry tiny bits of food back to their nest.

What really impresses me is their strong sense of smell and how fast they respond when food is left uncovered. They may be small, but they are smart, organized, and hardworking. I also find it intriguing how they follow each other in a perfect line, using invisible scent trails. Even when you clean the area, they don't give up easily; they find another way.
