Portrait In Demure Amidst the Storm (Poem) | Mixed Media Project

"Portrait In Demure Amidst the Storm"

Although the storm breaks,
and threatens to wound me,
there is a place I can retreat.

Although my heart aches,
as the devastation surrounds me,
an invisible hand reaches out and beats.

It beats back the forces that
pierce my shield in the shadow.

My own woman I am.
Knowledge of my worth despite
my pale flesh annoying those without.

I merely stand firm in myself.

Calm within grounds me
As I go into that demure place.

Then wait.

It will come.

And when it comes.

I will succumb.

While viewing the photo I used as the main image for my project, I looked deeply into those eyes. The shape of the young girl's head. The style of her hair, Her angular face, and smooth skin. The only word I could think of was "demur". So I had to locate other images to surround her with that didn't take away from her presence. I love how the background of my design turned out.

Turmoil in the background looked as if it's receding. I accomplished this ethereal fractal scene with one of three pure fractal I created in the advanced fractal rendering program, Apophysis 7X. The fractal is titled "Shards of Peach", and I used the Variation "Separation" to achieve the sunlight effect. I then purposely rendered it on a transparent background to be combined with other fractals or different type images.

To break up the peach coloring, I chose two free-sourced images, one of which originates from a fellow collage artist in the LMAC Community, @agmoore. Her images she contributes to the LMAC database, the #LIL, are awesome, and I include them frequently in my projects.

My final image was a recent one I retrieved from the stable diffusion program, StarryAI. I didn't have many flowers among the images, so decided to take time and develop a text description that would work for different type stemmed flowers. The one I included here looks lovely with the two toned wheat and purple coloring.

I utilized Canva, my design program, to compile the different type images. My procedures, which began with a blank, white canvas, are in accordance with my Pro subscription. With this subscription, adding layers of elements with tools such as background removal, resizing, filtering, duplication, and repositioning items is made easier. Below are my procedures.

! [Portrait In Demure Amidst the Storm Poem]

Retrato En medio de la tormenta (Poema)

Apophysis-PortraitInDemure.jpg

The art is exquisite. It's not simply visually pleasing, but it captures the sentiment of the poem. In your portrait the young lady is not passive, but is a vessel of latent energy.

The latency is expressed here:

As I go into that demure place.
Then wait.
It will come.
And when it comes.
I will succumb.

The two forms of expression--portrait and poem--tell a complete story, one reinforcing the other.

I truly admire the particular care you take with everything you create.

Thanks for referring to me in this lovely blog.

Have a most wonderful evening, @justclickindiva

Hello @agmoore. You describe the reticence of the young lady perfectly. She's holding back until the perfect timing to absorb her consciousness. You know, sometimes I find myself spending more time composing my design than I had originally planned. It all has to fit as near perfectly as it can.

I appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedule to visit and view my project and poem. Once I locate an #LIL items I like, I store it so that I can quickly grab it to include in my designs. That way I don't have to search through the database. Thanks so much for engagement and support.

Take care.

It's just like when the character is interesting and looks beautiful and is exactly like the story you've told us at the time, then the post starts to become much more interesting.

Susurros y sentimientos

Hello @neotopher. What is the above message you left. Are you responding to the content of my post? Thanks for your visit.

Your beautiful words inspired me and filled me with creativity, so I improvised this poem.
