RE: Sabbatical | Mixed Media Project

Your story is inspiring and it reminded me that someone once told me I should write a book about my own story because it would help many people, like a weary traveller, just as the story describes. You talk about bringing light into the darkness, and you’re right, leaving that star for someone else who needs it.

Your design is beautiful, pure harmony that brings peace and tranquillity to anyone who sees it. Thank you so much for your work, which is always of such high quality and so thorough. A big hug!💗

Hello @avdesing. Thanks so much for your visit and lovely compliment for my short story and design. I was hoping that the two would complement each other. I wanted to portray a strong reason for a sabbatical. An incurable illness I thought fit the theme. It doesn't matter what happens to a person, it's how that person handles the situation. Through any obstacles, one needs family and friends as a strong support system.

And yes, I strongly believe that documenting important events in one's life provides reflection and a pathway for others to view a given predicament from another perspective.

Take care and have a nice start to your weekend.

What you’ve said is absolutely true, and I agree. Are you going to take a sabbatical? I hope everything’s going well. Look after yourself too!! Hugs!💗

Not anytime soon. I'm too busy downsizing our home for the next phase of our lives. We've lived with clutter for over 50 years. Now it's time to release it and let others enjoy, lolol.

You wouldn't believe the items we found in our storage shed. Xmas trees; outside/inside holiday decor; enough gift wrap to last the next 50 years; bed rails; electronics from the 80s; clothes in style from the 90s; numerous sets of dinnerware, VHS tapes; etc. Searching for donation centers.

Glad I'm retired, because it's a full-time job. Wasn't that difficult acquiring all that stuff!

I had to do that when I moved to another country, and I know it’s no easy task! A 70-year-old house – it used to belong to my grandmother… just imagine!!! I wish you every success.

I can imagine...living with it daily. And thanks for the support. I'm finding I need all I can get. The funny thing is, no one can really help me because the biggest portion only I know what it is and whether it's ready for File 13. Taking time to direct others on every items slows me down. That's just my personality.

It is better to do the work alone, the way you like it. You are doing the right thing, even if it takes longer.
