The story begins with Roselia and her step brother Antonio. They are into big debt, the Antonio was forcing Roselia for some money, she decided to cut off her hair and gave it to her to sell it off. The step brother took her hair and went outside where he was caught by the other loan sharks.
Roselia disclosed that she came into the world of the novel she was reading and it's been three years. In the novel Roselia is a mere background character who is gonna die because she loved Duke Klaus and she got caught because of him as he used her as a spy on crown prince.
The current owner in Roselia's body knows the future, for that reason she decides to disguise as her brother Antonia because in the original story Duke will come for the debt of her father and take Roselia as his mais, the same thing happens with her in a disguise. Duke hired Antonio without any doubt thinking that his sister Roselia has passed away, now she's his manservant.
Roselia in mind had the plan that she would never fall for the Duke as she wants to prevent her death. Roselia is now known as Antonio, on the first day she has impressed the sister of Duke and their bond grew gradually as she was seen as a good looking man. Duke was suspicious of Antonio and thought he was lying about his dead sister.
Because Duke had met someone on the street who bumped into him, that girl looked exactly like Antonio. In real it was her trying to collect the paintings to clear her debts and get released from the duke. Even after changing her appearance as a boy it seems her fate doesn't change. But she slowly got closer to Duke's sister Clausette who eventually found out the truth of Roselia. As Clausette was a kind person she decided to keep the secret between them.
On the other hand crown prince already knew Antonio is a girl, he seems to have interest in her. He wants to use Antonio as his prey. Nothing seems to be going well as planned because now she has to pretend as both Roselia and Antonio.

I love strong female protagonist, they are firm and fearless. I love this different kind of plot where a mere character gets the chance to rewrite her fate. This is totally different from what I have read so far. Most of the time the male leads are interested in the protagonist but in this case Roselia is a background character and the female lead is someone else. Roselia is just trying to avoid her death which is already written in her fate.
In the original story the duke nor the crown prince has any interest in Roselia. The duke is head over heels for the female lead and the crown prince is obsessed with her. So, Roselia's death meant nothing to them. Even though Roselia hardly loved the Duke but he only used her for his purposes.
I would like to see Roselia finding a great lover or none at all because she's enough for herself, I believe not in every story the female protagonist needs a male lead to have her happy ending. I am more curious about how she got into the novel and her background story. I'm not sure if this manhwa will cover that out but I still have high hopes.
The manhwa is still on going and there's currently 36 chapters. I am waiting to see if Roselia will be successful to avoid her death or she's going to be more in trouble. Pretending as a guy is a hard thing and I am glad they made it look natural and the others find it out very soon except the duke. I think Duke is ruthless he doesn't think of anyone. That's why the crown princess never took likings into him.
I just want Roselia to live and lead her life peacefully. I don't want her to fall in love with any male lead unless they also feels the same way about her.
Each character in the story has their own story and own role to play, I feel all of them did justice to the story. I didn't feel there's many characters added unnecessary, I feel it was really necessary for the story to move forward.
Although they didn't put enough attention to the desgins of the clothing's, I was expecting to see some more mind-blowing art, as I don't like to see repetitive clothing's. But I am pleased with the hair style and the colorings are amazing. The details to the hairs is amazing.
"I Became the Duke's Male Servant," is one of the best Manhwa where you will definitely receive good amount of storytelling. I feel everything is fast forwarded but not rushed. I don't like slow paced stories, I am glad they don't do much of cliffhanging chapters. There's going to be exciting royal romance, I'm truly excited to see the ending of it, hope they won't mess it up.
