Se trata de la historia de Takeru, un joven muy perspicaz con un gran espíritu de no rendirse y ser capaz de luchar por sus sueños, se encuentra con una jovencita a la cual ayuda en un momento de crisis, y decide que quiere saber más de ella pero no consigue encontrarla de nuevo, hasta que un día unas especies de robot lo persiguen, atacándolos, y cuando Takeru está a punto de morir despierta en otra época, al principio cree que es un sueño, pero cuando se da cuenta es una época que tiene más de mil años, por lo que no entiende que pasa, y comienza a generarse un caos en donde el cielo se llena de nubes negras conocida como la bruma, ocasionando que todos estén en peligro.

Takeru sin entender nada, comienza a correr y salvar a los que puede, hasta que de nuevo se encuentra con la joven llamada Tsukimiya, pero ella no lo recuerda, no sabe quién es, entre la confusión del lugar donde se encuentra y lo que le pasa a la joven que anteriormente había conocido, inicia un ciclo en el que regresa al mismo punto inicial y en la misma época, por lo que Takeru comienza a ver todo extraño y debe descubrir que pasa y que tiene que ver Tsukimiya a la cual tiene que proteger tras lo que está sucediendo con los ataques de la bruma y de una especie de chikillami, controlados por los onmyoji, ahí se encuentra con Atsunaga y Yura, quienes se convertirán en unos buenos compañeros para que Takeru entrene y pueda luchar contra los malos, así mismo saber que pasa en ese mundo.

Pero sobre todo con Abe no Seime, un hombre con más de 1 mil años y quien genero ese caos de diferentes mundos que colisionan entre sí y en que la busca de un futuro diferente se ve más lejos, ya que las decisiones que toma resultan igual y solo Takeru podría cambiar ello, aunque el enemigo será el que menos piensa, y la realidad de este mundo es el miedo a que ocurran cosas que deben suceder y otras que si se pueden cambiar pero dependerá de tu voluntad y lucha para que ello no se cumpla de mala manera, y es ahí donde realza la valentía y ganas de cambiar ese futuro astro que se avecina.
