Hello again, anime lovers!
I hope you are all well. Today I bring you a recommendation for an anime that I have honestly watched several times over the years. This anime is a romantic comedy that perfectly blends absurd comedy with satirical undertones, playing heavily on common shojo anime clichés, along with a beautiful romance that develops over each episode.
This anime is called Ouran High School Host Club and tells the story of Haruhi Fujioka, a young student from a lower-class background who has a scholarship to the prestigious Ouran Academy. One day, Haruhi goes into the wrong classroom and ends up in the famous Host Club, a club made up of the richest and most handsome students in the entire academy, who entertain the young ladies of the academy. But by accident, Haruhi ends up breaking an expensive vase, incurring a million-dollar debt. So the leader, Tamaki Suoh, decides that she will be the club's “mascot.” Of course, they don't know that Haruhi is a girl because of her haircut and clothes.
However, several members soon literally “see the light” and realize her true gender, especially when Tamaki realizes that she “isn't ugly” and decides to make her a new host.
Of course, as stated by the characters themselves, Tamaki is a kind of good-hearted idiot, so he is the last to realize it, and only after accidentally seeing her changing clothes. Thus begins the story of Haruhi, forced to dress as a man, seduce damsels, and surrounded by handsome but eccentric and crazy boys, as she wins their hearts and they win hers.
The story is so funny, with hilarious scenes that will make you smile more than once. With characters like Tamaki Suoh, the eccentric leader, charismatic and narcissistic, but kind-hearted; Kyoya Ootori, the mastermind behind everything, calculating and cold but kind; and the so-called “demon twins.” Hikaru and Kaoru Hitachiin, mischievous twins, somewhat evil. Mitsukuni “Honey” Haninozuka, extremely adorable and obsessed with sweets, but literally a killing machine, and finally Takashi “Mori” Morinozuka, a quiet young man and Honey's protector.
Of course, the only normal one in the whole situation is Haruhi, who is focused, sensible, and critical and will have incredible adventures with the boys as they learn—and I'm not saying this, they say it themselves—“the poor side of life,” ha ha ha. There's literally a chapter where they go to her house and act very funny, saying, “These are poor people's things.” To them, Haruhi is a poor, naive girl they must take care of.
It's a fun and entertaining anime with a very sweet love story. Each character has a background or story to tell, and the relationship between Haruhi and them is heartwarming. Of course, this beautiful romantic comedy has drama and sad moments, because not everything in life, even for the rich, is rosy.
The story pokes fun at the world of the rich and poor (offering some criticism) and various clichés of romantic stories, which is one of its strongest points. Absurd humor and extravagant situations shape this anime. But it is undoubtedly the characters who bring the atmosphere to the situations, especially if they have a lot of money. There will be moments of tension over Haruhi's heart, but they are so over-the-top that they are funny; of course, she is not immune to falling in love.
There are iconic moments such as Tamaki's “self-exile”: he stands in a corner crying and muttering after doing or saying something silly and Haruhi reproaches him for it; Honey's obsession with sweets, which makes her brother think she is an alien; because of the inhuman amount she eats, or the appearance of Ranka, Haruhi's father, who is a transvestite, dramatic, and eccentric, and has a hilarious rivalry with Tamaki for Haruhi's affection, and that's just to mention a few.
With Haruhi, they will see a new world and form a true friendship, while they will be the support and brightness that Haruhi needed in her life.

Espero que se encuentren bien. Hoy les traigo por recomendación un anime que con toda sinceridad he visto varias veces a lo largo de los años. Este anime es de comedia romántica, que mezcla perfectamente comedia absurda con tintes satíricos, que juega bastante con los clichés comunes de los animes shojo, junto con un bonito romance que se va construyendo en cada episodio.
Este anime se llama Ouran High School Host Club y nos cuenta la historia de Haruhi Fujioka, una joven estudiante de clase baja y becada de la prestigiosa academia Ouran, un día Haruhi se equivoca de salón y termina en el famoso salón Host Club, un club conformado por los estudiantes más ricos y guapos de toda la academia, que realizan actividades de anfitriones entreteniendo a las damiselas de toda la academia. Pero por accidente, Haruhi termina rompiendo un jarrón carísimo, por lo que contrae una deuda millonaria. Por lo que el líder Tamaki Suoh decide que ella sea la “mascota” del club. Por supuesto, no saben que Haruhi es una chica debido a su corte y ropa.
Aunque, pronto a varios miembros, literalmente, “se les prende el foco” y se van dando cuenta de su verdadero género, sobre todo cuando Tamaki se da cuenta de que “no es feo” y decide convertirlo en un nuevo anfitrión.
Por supuesto y declarado por los mismos personajes de la historia, Tamaki es una especie de idiota de buen corazón, por lo que es el último en darse cuenta y solo después de accidentalmente verla cambiándose. Así empieza la historia de Haruhi, obligada a vestir de hombre, seducir damiselas y rodeada de chicos guapos, pero extravagantes y locos, mientras ella se gana sus corazones y ellos el de ella.
La historia es demasiado divertida, con escenas supergraciosas que sacan más de una sonrisa. Con personajes como Tamaki Suoh, el extravagante líder, carismático y narcisista, pero de buen corazón, Kyoya Ootori, el cerebro detrás de todo, calculador y frío pero amable, los denominados “gemelos demonios”. Hikaru y Kaoru Hitachiin, traviesos gemelos, algo malvados. Mitsukuni “Honey” Haninozuka, en extremo adorable y obsesionado con los dulces, pero literalmente es una máquina de matar, y por último Takashi “Mori” Morinozuka, un joven silencioso y el protector de Honey.
Por supuesto, la única normal de toda la situación es Haruhi, centrada, sensata y crítica que vivirá increíbles aventuras con los chicos, mientras ellos aprenden y no lo digo yo, lo dicen ellos “el lado pobre de la vida” ja, ja, ja literal hay un capítulo en que van a su casa y actúan muy gracioso, diciendo “son cosas de pobres”. Para ellos, Haruhi es una pobre e ingenua chica que deben cuidar.
Es un anime divertido y entretenido con una historia de amor muy linda. Cada personaje tiene un trasfondo o historia que contar y la relación entre Haruhi y ellos es enternecedora. Por supuesto, esta bonita comedia romántica tiene drama y momentos tristes, porque no todo en la vida, incluso la de los ricos, es de color de las rosas.
La historia hace mucha parodia entre el mundo de los ricos y los pobres (arrojando ciertas críticas) y a varios clichés de las historias románticas, ese es de sus puntos más fuertes. Es humor absurdo y situaciones extravagantes lo que le da forma a este anime. Pero son, sin duda, sus personajes los que aportan todo el ambiente a las situaciones y más si tienen mucho dinero. Habrá momentos de tensión por el corazón de Haruhi, pero ellas están anti parabólica que causan gracia; por supuesto, ella no está exenta de enamorarse.
Tiene momentos icónicos como los “autoexilio” de Tamaki: se pone en una esquina a llorar y murmurar después de hacer o decir algo tonto y que Haruhi se lo recrimine, la obsesión de Honey por los dulces que hace que su hermano piense que es una alíen, por la cantidad inhumana que come o la aparición de Ranka, el padre de Haruhi quien es travesti, dramático y excéntrico y con una rivalidad comiquísima con Tamaki por el afecto de Haruhi y eso es por mencionar solo un poco.
Con Haruhi verán un mundo nuevo y formarán una amistad verdadera, mientras que ellos serán el apoyo y el brillo que Haruhi necesitaba en su vida.
