I watched it in two sittings (9 + 3 episodes - too bad I had to go to work next day, so decided to make a break at 4AM). There are different stories included, from many genres of (mostly SF) movies. We had:

• scavenging limited resources in ruined world apocalypse style
• hunt for terrible monster
• epic mecha battle
• accident in space
• criminal investigation

Despite above it is predominantly a light comedic slice of life. I especially loved how Yachiyo unlocked new functions as rewards for "hidden quests" when she did something, that she should not be doing at all, for the first time ("voluptuous body" FTW! :o) ).
