I liked how you framed Pom Poko in your review, it really is that mix of playful and tragic, with the tanukis trying to fight back but also showing the cost of so-called progress. Studio Ghibli always nails those ecological themes without being preachy, and this movie is a perfect example of that. Your take on the balance between comedy and seriousness was spot on.
