La semana pasada tuve la oportunidad de regresar a un lugar donde no había ido desde que pasé uno de mis cumpleaños ahí estando mucho más chiquita.
Luego de pasar unas horas comprando los útiles y las cosas para el hogar. Mi papá me preguntó si no quería comerme una pizza. Cabe aclarar que yo, por condiciones de salud, debo seguir una dieta en donde las cantidades de glúten que consuma deben ser mínimas. Pero, realmente tenía mucha hambre, así que pensé en arriesgarme un poco.
Llegamos a El Paseo, un restaurante y pizzería a la vez, pero que comúnmente solo se le conoce como pizzería. El cual queda al lado del hotel Margabella Suites. Justo frente a la Av. Santiago Mariño. Además, se encuentra muy cerca de la Playa Guaraguao.
Last week, I had the opportunity to return to a place I hadn't been to since I spent one of my birthdays there when I was much younger.
After spending a few hours shopping for school supplies and household items, my dad asked me if I wanted to eat pizza. It should be noted that, due to health reasons, I must follow a diet where the amount of gluten I consume must be minimal. But I was really hungry, so I took a chance.
We arrived at El Paseo, a restaurant and pizzeria, but commonly known only as a pizzeria. It is located next to the Margabella Suites hotel, right in front of Santiago Mariño Avenue. It is also very close to Guaraguao Beach.
Al entrar, lo primero que ví fue una mesa de futbolito, un televisor, una especie de de caja resgistradora de Coca-Cola que tienen como decoración y una pequeña parte de la cocina. Pero, ví todo muy rápido, porque mi papá estaba muy hambriento jasjas.
Las mesas para poder comer se encuentran en la parte de atrás del restaurante. Un espacio que da directamente al aire libre y que se puede ver perfectamente hacia la playa que mencionaba anteriormente.
When I walked in, the first thing I saw was a foosball table, a TV, a Coca-Cola cash register that they have as decoration, and a small part of the kitchen. But I saw everything very quickly because my dad was very hungry, ha ha.
The tables for eating are located at the back of the restaurant. It's a space that opens directly onto the outdoors, with a perfect view of the beach I mentioned earlier.
Lo que más recordaba yo de este lugar era que estaba muy lleno de gatos de todas las edades y colores jasjs. Así que, una vez escogimos una mesa, en vez de ponerme a ver el menú, fui a buscar a los gatitos más cercanos. Ya cuando acabé y ví el menú, pensé que solo tendrían pizza, porque yo solo conocía el lugar como una pizzería, pero al leer, me dí cuenta que servían más cosas. Así que, tuve la suerte de no arriesgar mi estómago y pedí un pollo a la plancha.
What I remembered most about this place was that it was full of cats of all ages and colors. So, once we chose a table, instead of looking at the menu, I went to find the nearest kittens. When I finished and looked at the menu, I thought they only served pizza, because I only knew the place as a pizzeria, but when I read it, I realized they served other things. So, I was lucky not to risk my stomach and ordered grilled chicken.
Lo único que no me pareció tan chévere, fue que solo podía ordenar un solo contorno. Tenía las opciones de arroz, papas fritas o ensalada. Me fui por la opción de las papitas. Sin embargo, fue una buena ración de papitas y pollo.
En cambio, mis papás y mi hermanita pidieron una pizza, donde la mitad de la pizza solo fuera de jamón y queso para mi hermanita. Además, pedimos una pizza pequeña para llevarle a mi hermano a casa.
The only thing I didn't like so much was that I could only order one side dish. I had the choice of rice, French fries, or salad. I went for the French fries. However, it was a good serving of fries and chicken.
My parents and little sister ordered a pizza, with half of it just ham and cheese for my sister. We also ordered a small pizza to take home for my brother.
Mientras estuvimos comiendo, un dúo de chicos estuvieron tocando y cantando algunas canciones. Canciones de artistas como Bacilos, Maná, Camila y los que actualmente se escuchan entre los jóvenes. Y según ví, constantemente invitan a cantantes o grupos de aquí de la isla, para regalarnos un poco de música en vivo.
While we were eating, a duo of young men played and sang a few songs. Songs by artists such as Bacilos, Maná, Camila, and others currently popular among young people. And from what I saw, they constantly invite singers or bands from here on the island to treat us to a little live music.
Es un lugar bien agradable, con un buen servicio, quizás el calor puede ser un problema si la noche no está fresca, y alguno que otro gatito estará en tus pies pidiendo algo que comer, pero, en general, es un buen lugar para pasar un rato y comer algo rico.
It's a very pleasant place with good service. The heat can be a problem if the night isn't cool, and you might find the occasional cat at your feet begging for something to eat, but overall it's a good place to spend some time and enjoy a delicious meal.
