Hello Hello✨
It's been a while since I went on an observant walk but I did today. I went to visit a friend at an institution and while we were catching up, a beautiful building caught my attention.
Initially, I thought it was an elementary school building because of the umbrella mural I spotted from afar but the friend told me that it was actually a female hostel for the students of the institution.. At this point, I was more intrigued. Why? Because this institution has been standing for years and after the first female hostel crumbled, they didn't think it important enough to build another one, so why build one all of a sudden?
The friend told me that the school has nothing to do with the construction of the new building. Instead, some men who were contesting for positions in the government decided to build and dedicate the hostel to the school. And the mural had names of those who contributed to the building.
Of course I was eager to get a closer look at the building and so I went on a walk.
Apparently, students do not live in this new hostel and so the building is basically just an abandoned sight of attraction as it stands.
However, I like how outstanding this building is. The green grass, the chairs outside, the architecture; they are all beautiful.
On closer assessment, I realised that grasses have started growing so tall with no one to tend to them. This just made me feel like the building is going to be covered up in grass if the institution doesn't utilise it for something else (since students do not want to live here).
This is only right because once the building is put to use, the grasses would be tended to from time to time.
On this walk, I came across some wildflowers and some other flowers which were planted to beautify the building.
The ornamental flowers just added to the general allure of this building.
One other thing I noticed was the drainage right in the middle of the pathway. I do not know much about the water logs around the institution so maybe the drainage was placed there to prevent any mishaps.
The back view of the building was as beautiful as the front view. Just behind the building is a vast amount of untamed bushes. This could be one reason why students prefer not to live in this beautiful looking hostel.
One other detail I liked about this building were the blue windows. I do not know why but I absolutely love blue windows. They give off an amazing aesthetic.
I took the liberty to capture the reflection of parts of the untamed bushes through the blue windows.
This was really a fulfilling walk as I get to view and consume so many beautiful objects in one spot.
it's planting season already
However, I felt and I still feel that such a building is just too beautiful to go to waste. It would be a sad sight.
I hope you enjoyed this tour round the abandoned female hostel. Do have a lovely day ahead.
