Hello dear friends of #wednesdaywalk, I wish you all a great day. To be honest, my day was mostly work, which I will share with you as part of our friend @tattoodjay initiative.
This week started with intense work and many responsibilities, and this Wednesday was no exception. I got up very early because we had the task of chlorinating the 2,000-liter vertical tank at the Sunsol Ecoland hotel, an important procedure to ensure the quality of the water used there.
This time, there were only three of us: Luis, a company employee; my husband, who always helps us with all the work whenever he has free time; and me. We left early in the morning and went straight to the tank, where we loaded the hypochlorite we would use later.

Esta semana comenzó con intensidad en el trabajo y muchas responsabilidades, este miércoles no fue la excepción. Me levanté bien temprano, ya que teníamos la tarea de clorar el tanque vertical de dos mil litros del hotel Sunsol Ecoland, un procedimiento importante para garantizar la calidad del agua que se utiliza allí.
En esta ocasión, solo fuimos tres Luis, un empleado de la compañía, mi esposo, quien siempre que tiene tiempo libre nos apoya en todas las labores, y yo. Salimos en las primeras horas del día y fuimos directamente al depósito, donde cargamos el hipoclorito que usaríamos más tarde.
Our plan was to arrive at the hotel as early as possible, since the elevated tank is exposed to direct sunlight for most of the day, and we wanted to avoid the intense midday heat. In addition, we had to fill out several forms and complete a time-consuming protocol. To complicate matters further, the hotel is located a considerable distance away, which meant we had to undertake a long journey.
Once we arrived at the hotel, after completing part of the initial protocol, we had to wait for the assigned security personnel, as we were required to be accompanied when moving around the premises. On this occasion, we were assigned a very friendly young woman who accompanied us throughout the tour.
Nuestra idea era llegar al hotel lo más temprano posible, ya que el tanque elevado recibe directamente los rayos del sol durante gran parte del día, y queríamos evitar exponernos al calor intenso del mediodía. Además, debíamos llenar varios modelos y completar un protocolo que consume bastante tiempo. Para complicar aún más las cosas, el hotel está ubicado a una distancia considerable, lo que nos obligaba a emprender un largo trayecto.
Una vez llegamos al hotel, tras completar parte del protocolo inicial, tuvimos que esperar por el personal de seguridad asignado, ya que se requiere acompañamiento para desplazarnos dentro de las instalaciones. En esta ocasión, nos tocó una joven muy amable que nos acompañó durante todo el recorrido.
Since we had the hypochlorite tank with us, we were authorized to use our own vehicle to avoid contaminating the guest transport units. We then began our journey to the tank area, but not before stopping at the quality control offices. There we were joined by the quality control staff, whose job is to verify that we use the exact amount of product as specified and that all established standards are met.
Dado que llevábamos con nosotros el tanque de hipoclorito, nos autorizaron a utilizar nuestro propio vehículo para evitar contaminar las unidades de transporte de los huéspedes. Comenzamos entonces nuestro recorrido hacia el área del tanque, no sin antes hacer una parada en las oficinas de calidad. Allí se nos unió el personal de control de calidad, cuya función es verificar que utilicemos la cantidad exacta de producto según lo normado y que se cumplan todos los estándares establecidos.
The vertical tank is located at the other end of the facility, so we headed there. Once on site, we used the digital meter to check the water level inside the tank, which allowed us to calculate the precise dose of hypochlorite to be applied.
El tanque vertical se encuentra al otro extremo de la instalación, así que tomamos rumbo hacia allí. Una vez en el sitio, utilizamos el medidor digital para verificar el nivel de agua dentro del tanque, lo que nos permitió calcular la dosis precisa de hipoclorito a aplicar.
To apply the treatment, we had to climb onto the tank. We poured in the bottles according to the instructions, and after waiting a few minutes, we took a sample of the water to analyze the residual chlorine level. After checking with the quality control staff that everything was within acceptable parameters, we were able to complete the procedure.
Para hacer la aplicación, tuvimos que subir al tanque. Vertimos los frascos según las normas, y tras esperar unos minutos, tomamos una muestra del agua para analizar el nivel de cloro residual. Al comprobar junto al personal de calidad que todo estaba dentro de los parámetros aceptables, pudimos dar por finalizado el procedimiento.
Before leaving, I decided to stay a few minutes longer. From the top of the tank, there is a spectacular view: on one side, the beautiful Zaragoza beach, and on the other, Puerto Cruz beach, with the majestic Hesperia hotel dominating the landscape. It is a place that always fills me with inspiration, and I can't help but stop and enjoy it every time I am there.
Antes de retirarnos, decidí quedarme unos minutos más. Desde lo alto del tanque se tiene una vista espectacular: a un lado, la hermosa playa de Zaragoza, y al otro, la playa Puerto Cruz, con el majestuoso hotel Hesperia dominando el paisaje. Es un lugar que siempre me llena de inspiración, y no puedo evitar detenerme a disfrutarlo cada vez que estoy allí.
After climbing down from the tank, we called it a day. This week we still have to return to the hotel to backwash some filters, especially the one at the water treatment plant.
With our work done, we headed to lunch to recharge our batteries. This time it was just my husband and me, as Luis had a commitment with his wife and couldn't miss his family lunch.
Después de bajar del tanque, dimos por concluido nuestro trabajo por el día. Esta semana aún debemos regresar al hotel para hacer los retrolavados de algunos filtros, en especial el de la planta potabilizadora.
Con el deber cumplido, nos dirigimos a almorzar para reponer energías. Esta vez fuimos solo mi esposo y yo, ya que Luis tenía compromiso con su esposa y no podía faltar a su almuerzo familiar.
