Friends of #wednesdaywalk, I wish you an excellent day.
Once again, I am here with you, sharing a new tour as part of @tattoodjay's wonderful initiative. I love participating every week, not only because it allows me to show you a little bit of my day, but also because it connects me with you, and I enjoy writing.
Today's walk was quite long and full of activities, as I had several important things to do. I knew early on that it would be a busy day, so I decided to get up a little earlier than usual so I could get organized calmly and not rush around.
One of the tasks for the day was to take my father to his doctor's appointment. He has his regular cardiologist at the Red Cross in Villa Rosa, which is quite far from our house. In addition, we had to check the status of a filter that had been activated the day before, to make sure there were no leaks around the joints. And as if that weren't enough, we also had to do our routine tour of the Sunsol hotel chain, part of our job responsibilities.
The morning began with a partly cloudy sky, but nothing that could dampen the radiant views along the way. Here in Margarita, it is common for the day to dawn with some clouds, but then the sky quickly clears, giving us enchanting landscapes that always fill me with energy and gratitude.

Una vez más estoy aquí con ustedes, compartiendo un nuevo recorrido como parte de la hermosa iniciativa de @tattoodjay. Me encanta participar cada semana, no solo porque me permite mostrarles un pedacito de mi día, sino también porque me conecta con ustedes y disfruto escribir.
El paseo de hoy fue bastante largo y estuvo lleno de actividades, ya que tenía que cumplir con varios propósitos importantes. Desde temprano supe que sería un día movido, así que decidí levantarme un poco antes de lo habitual para poder organizarme con calma y no andar a las carreras.
Una de las tareas del día fue llevar a mi padre a su consulta médica. Él tiene su cardiólogo de cabecera en la Cruz Roja de Villa Rosa, que queda bastante distante de nuestra casa. Además, teníamos que verificar el estado de un filtro que se activó el día anterior, para asegurarnos de que no hubiera ningún salidero por las juntas. Y como si eso no fuera suficiente, también teníamos pendiente hacer el recorrido rutinario por la cadena de hoteles Sunsol, parte de nuestras responsabilidades laborales.
La mañana comenzó con un cielo parcialmente nublado, pero nada que empañara las radiantes vistas del camino. Acá en Margarita es común que el día amanezca con algunas nubes, pero luego el cielo se despeja con rapidez, regalándonos paisajes encantadores que siempre me llenan de energía y gratitud.
Our first stop was at the hotel. We did a quick check and, to our relief, everything was in perfect condition. They even told us that we could have done the check by phone, but I prefer to see things with my own eyes. I like to double-check that everything is okay, because I don't like the quality of the work to be questioned. I am one of those who believes that direct supervision is key to maintaining high standards.
Nuestra primera parada fue en el hotel. Hicimos una revisión rápida y, para nuestra tranquilidad, todo estaba en perfectas condiciones. Incluso nos comentaron que podríamos haber hecho la verificación por teléfono, pero yo prefiero ver las cosas con mis propios ojos. Me gusta corroborar que todo esté bien, porque no me agrada que se ponga en duda la calidad del trabajo. Soy de las que cree que la supervisión directa es clave para mantener los estándares altos.
With that task accomplished, we went to pick up my father to take him to his doctor's appointment. As I mentioned before, it's a long drive, but that allowed us to enjoy beautiful scenery.
Con esa tarea cumplida, fuimos a buscar a mi padre para llevarlo a su cita médica. Como mencioné antes, el trayecto es largo, pero eso nos permitió disfrutar de hermosos paisajes.
Once we arrived at the Red Cross, my husband left us and continued on his work route. His support is essential for everything to run smoothly in our small family business. Meanwhile, my father and I waited our turn. The wait was long, so long that my father grew a little impatient, but he was finally seen. The doctor was clear: he must continue to take care of himself, he cannot stop taking his medication, and he must maintain a strict diet. I know that the latter will be a real challenge, because my father loves to eat.
Una vez en la Cruz Roja, mi esposo nos dejó y siguió con su recorrido de trabajo. Su apoyo es fundamental para que todo funcione bien en nuestra pequeña empresa familiar. Mientras tanto, mi padre y yo esperamos nuestro turno. La espera fue larga, tanto que mi padre se impacientó un poco, pero finalmente fue atendido. El doctor fue claro: debe seguir cuidándose, no puede dejar de tomar sus medicamentos y debe mantener una dieta estricta. Sé que esto último será un verdadero reto, porque a mi padre le encanta comer.
When we left the doctor's office, it was already past 1:00 p.m. and my husband was waiting for us. We decided to go to the Río market for lunch. We ordered roast chicken with salad for my father, a healthy option, although he wasn't entirely satisfied. But as the saying goes, “You can't have your cake and eat it too.” He has to listen to the doctor.
Finally, we headed home, enjoying the scenery once again and the relief of having completed all of the day's tasks.
Al salir de la consulta, ya era pasada la 1:00 p.m. y mi esposo nos estaba esperando. Decidimos ir a almorzar al mercado Río. A mi padre le pedimos pollo asado con ensalada, una opción saludable, aunque él no quedó del todo conforme. Pero como dice el dicho: “El que quiere celeste, que le cueste”. Tiene que hacer caso al médico.
Finalmente, emprendimos el regreso a casa, disfrutando una vez más del paisaje y del alivio de haber cumplido con todas las tareas del día.
