!LOL, so that was how it got its name! And I thought plain was plain as in a broad area of mainly flat lands.
It was the wife, Mrs Gertrude Freeman, who named the village "Woodland" because the place was surrounded by acres of Valley Oak trees.
It is a well-maintained gazebo, @silvertop.
