Yesterday, after completing the production process and placing all my orders at Chocolates Alile, I decided to visit a place I'd heard a lot about. I always put it off due to lack of time, but today, with a calmer day, I headed toward the gardens of the National Museum of Decorative Arts.
Located on 17th Street, between D and E, the garden surrounds a former neoclassical mansion that belonged to the Countess of Revilla de Camargo and is currently the museum. The gardens are a green space that has become a grand stage, where art and nature intertwine with an almost theatrical elegance. Ayer, tras completar el proceso de producción y realizar todos mis pedidos en Chocolates Alile, decidí visitar un lugar del que había oído hablar mucho. Siempre lo posponía por falta de tiempo, pero hoy, con un día más tranquilo, me dirigí a los jardines del Museo Nacional de Artes Decorativas.
Ubicado en la calle 17, entre D y E, el jardin rodea una antigua mansión neoclásica que perteneció a la Condesa de Revilla de Camargo que es actualmente el museo. Los jardines son un espacio verde que se ha convertido en un gran escenario, donde el arte y la naturaleza se entrelazan con una elegancia casi teatral. They are divided into two parts. The first I visited was the Garden of Seasons, to the right of the mansion. It has a classic European feel. The entrance is guarded by two fierce-looking dog sculptures, like mythological guardians watching over the passage to the sacred. At each end, carved stone fish emerge as if leaping from an invisible pond, adding a touch of marine fantasy to the whole.
Se dividen en dos partes. La primera que visité fue El Jardín de las Estaciones, a la derecha de la mansión. Tiene un aire clásico europeo. La entrada está custodiada por dos esculturas de perros de aspecto feroz, como guardianes mitológicos que vigilan el paso a lo sagrado. En cada extremo, peces tallados en piedra emergen como si saltaran de un estanque invisible, añadiendo un toque de fantasía marina al conjunto.
Upon entering, visitors are greeted by a fountain reminiscent of ancient European spas. I recognize that it needs more care and attention to ensure this gem endures over time. Its spacious and serene marble and stone structure seems to invite rest and contemplation.

To the left is the Night Garden, decorated with Rococo and Neoclassical-inspired sculptures, giving it a more intimate feel. It is dotted with sculptures of muses, human figures, and classical allegories that seem to engage in dialogue with each other from their pedestals. Some evoke the seasons; others celebrate the beauty of the body and gestures.
A la izquierda se encuentra el Jardín de Noche, decorado con esculturas de inspiración rococó y neoclásica, lo que le confiere un aire más íntimo. Está salpicado de esculturas de musas, figuras humanas y alegorías clásicas que parecen dialogar entre sí desde sus pedestales. Algunas evocan las estaciones; otras celebran la belleza del cuerpo y los gestos.
Further back, a small plaza with a tiled floor simulates stone paths, like a meeting place. In one corner stands a large fountain. Unfortunately, it didn't have any water, but I thought it would have been a visual spectacle if it were moving. Above, there's a beautiful veneer that includes branches from various trees, and in the center, a lion's head with a hole in its mouth, suggesting a fountain. Further down, a marble sculpture with two embedded fish and a fearsome gaze sits on rocks that sprout vegetation in all directions. At its feet, a large pond completes the scene. A truly beautiful fountain.
Más atrás, una plazuela con suelo de baldosas simula caminos de piedra, como un lugar de encuentro. En una esquina se alza una gran fuente. Lamentablemente, no tenía agua, pero pensé que habría sido un espectáculo visual si se moviera. Arriba, hay un hermoso enchapado con ramas de varios árboles, y en el centro, una cabeza de león con un agujero en la boca, que sugiere una fuente. Walking through this garden is like immersing yourself in a fantastic visual world, where every sculpture tells a story and every fountain holds a whisper of the past. It's a place to visit, experience, feel, and remember.
