Wednesday Walk 10.29.25, "Tortoise Rescue"!

Here we are at #wednesdaywalk #42 of 2025! First, I want to thank @tattoodjay for this community!

So for this week I did not get many photos. It seems last night's cold front (cool front) blowing through cleaned everything out - so to speak!
Here are from the few I did get, and a little story of sorts...
But first I did catch this Monarch butterfly on the Shrimp plant this morning at the old house,

I wanted to get a second photo of it spreading it's wings, but... When it heard the phone it flew away so this is all I got, still a Monarch in October is pretty rare!

Here is the "Tortoise" that lives next door to the old house,

and now the "story"...
It appears that the couple split up. So the Tortis belonged to the wife - but she has no room at her new place. The husband does not it.
Today it came out to see me, and it broke my heart so....
I am buying a place soon... So if the Tortoise can stay there a few months - I will take it to my place.
And funny, after I said this to my old roommate - and she should let this guy know...
It waved good-bye to me as I was leaving,

Absolute heart breaking (for me).

Later in the day I came across these tiny Mimosa plants growing at my friend's shop.
This is one growing alone,

And this one is growing in the middle of stickers!

And that was it for this weeks #wednesdaywalk it. Let's hope my old neighbor gets my message in time for the Tortoise!
