It was a beautiful Wednesday morning, calm and peaceful that I wanted to lay down more on my mattress before engaging myself to my already already mapped out my plans for the day. It was just an evening Christian meeting for the day but I was left with a location to were to meet my Mom before she left the house. I didn't take it serious thinking she didn't mean it. But her call kept coming in to come meet for an urgent message, I got there and she was already tired of waiting for me. I opened my mouth with an apology without further delay, just to calm her mind down.
I have always loved to volunteer in this kind of work, l mean it's the MR's week Measles Rubella a program of preventive measure against Measles for children under the ages of 0-14 years. But this time I didn't volunteer, as one needs to be present in the training to guide you do the work but I wasn't, because of much activities in my hand.
I had to help her achieve two goals that day; one is to assist her with the work and second was to go get something in the market. But before then I had to go weigh myself as I have been on weight loss mission. While on it I couldn't even concentrate as she was in a haste to get to the next location. In a hurry to leave the current location, me getting my result was difficult.
As a lady in the room who came for consultation called my attention and asked me why I was weighing myself, that I need not to. My answer was it help me monitor my weight gain and lose and helps me keep fit. Amazement overwhelmed her as she never saw the answer coming.
To the first settlement, the were properly dressed that I commended them on their outfit and happiness filled their faces. The work was moving fine and as at the time of the visit there were no challenges, the cry echoes of the children who received the vaccines filled the air that I was unable to hear the birds sing. It was unfortunate to hear that some instructed that that their children should not be vaccinated because of Adverse Event Following Immunization(AEFI).
It was there first day at work and they needed to return early to give their to the end users. I couldn't wait. Left them immediately I completed what I came out for. I boarded the next available tricycle to the next destination, this time it was to the market and my clock was ticking without delay. A lot has changed in this area the last time I visited, it happened that there was no water fall and commercial busses and tricycle usually cause traffic in this area. While coming I had to walk down half of the way before boarding tricycle (Keke) as it was a popular market day where people come from far and near to buy and sell.
I couldn't wait to buy the things I came to buy so I could hurry home for my Christian meeting. It seemed as if i came for window shopping. I tell you I had to compare my prices before making any purchase, and it went just the way I expect it to.
