Greetings to hive friends wherever they are. Sharing experience on the way to the Fort, Thank you Wednesdaywalk by @tattoodjay as host. This location is on Penyengat Island, Riau Province.
Walking to the Fort at the top of the hill can only be done on foot. I tried walking up the hill via the foot path, the natural atmosphere is still beautiful, the air is quite cool.
There are still many tall trees and some trees have fallen due to the wind, via the path past old buildings such as the Gun powder storage building which was built around 1832.
The Fort is at the top of the hill past the Kings dining complex via the side of the tomb complex. The road conditions are narrow, the only defensive Fort is on Penyengat Island, and is called the Batu Kursi by the people.
This Fort was built around the 18th Century, built by the Kingdom. The Benteng Kursi was built as a defense against enemy attack from the Dutch army at that time.
The Fort area is quite large and the Fort faces the sea, the position on the hill is equipped with two large cannons at each corner. The type of soil on this hill is bauxite rock.
The Fort is surrounded by a moat a bout three meters deep, the Fort area is protected forest area and designated as a cultural heritage structure.
Thank you for reading, happy day.
