Easy walk city center

in Wednesday Walk11 months ago

The day was beautiful, sunny, warm without wind.
We decided to take a walk around the city center, which is still decorated with New Year's decorations, stalls and lights.

The favorite pedestrian street, Knez Mihajlova, was full of people, there was not a single free place in street cafes where we could have a little refreshment, so we went down the steps to the Sava River, on the Promenade, past the Saborna crkva and the French Embassy.

My favorite stall (next to the mulled wine stall), the cheese stall

We were walking along the promenade when we came to the "Winter Fairy Tale", a large, fairy-tale decorated area designed for small (but also big) children, with a stage and lots of kiosks selling food and drinks, something for everyone.

We bought ourselves a glass of mulled wine, sat by the campfire and listened to music until it got dark, which ended our walk that day.

I love the vibe :) It just misses at least a bit of snow ;)

The snow was missing only in the evening, when we were sitting by the fire... I'm watching a news report this morning, from the north of Finland, the temperature is below -30. However, I like these +15 more 😀
Sitting in a thin coat drinking beer in the sun in January, priceless.
It's as if God answered my prayers for a warm winter, the kind I saw twice in Spain, in Barcelona and Valencia...

Well, there might be loads of snow in Spain, like three years ago, when Storm Filomena hit the peninsula hard. Madrid actually looked like a Scandinavian city: https://www.dw.com/en/storm-filomena-blankets-spain-with-snow-and-wreaks-havoc/a-56179164

I'd say you and I both got lucky with the weather on our winter tour of Spain... Unless you were planning on skiing when you traveled to Spain last week 😀

Well, I am actually about to go to ski to Granada :) To Sierra Nevada ;)

a cool walk, I to like checking out the cheese vendors or displays and see what they have

Wishing you and years all the best for 2024 and Thanks for joining the Wednesday Walk :)

I wish you a Happy New year dear @tattoodjay
Thank you for being here, to walk together 🙂
