This is a post to go with #WednesdayWalk challenge by @tattoodjay.
From December 20 to December 24 of this year, I was in Abu Dhabi. But before going there, I spent 4 days in Moscow visiting my daughter. We planned to go to some theater with her, and we wanted to go to the aviation museum with our son-in-law, but we couldn't do any of this. But I spent a lot of time with my youngest grandson.
A small child does not always allow us to fulfill all our desires.
But still, on the evening of December 19th, we went for a walk on Red Square.
We entered the Square from Tverskaya Street through the Okhotny Ryad New Year's exposition.
When I arrived in Moscow on the morning of December 16, the heavy snowfall called Ivan had not yet ended. But by the evening of the 19th, the utilities had already coped with the consequences of this snow invasion.
New Year's Fair. This small town is located on Red Square along GUM. Cheerful music was playing from there. It was not Christmas songs but this is a feature of today's Russia. These were songs of the category of folk songs that should raise people's patriotic feelings. But it can even be very funny.
This is not just a train, but a fast food trailer. Roasted chestnut and corn. My daughter wanted to buy and taste a roasted chestnut but did not dare to do it.
There is an ice rink in the center of this fairground town and people walk past it on the square itself. There is a fence on the right and guards walk along it. You cannot go close to the Kremlin wall and to the blue fir trees that are located along the wall.
I visited the Vatican before Christmas, there are no such fences.
The grandson absolutely did not want to sit in his baby carriage. We had to carry him in our arms one at a time. Oh, how much he cried in the car while we were driving towards Red Square. And he cried especially hard when we were driving back home.
When my grandson grows up, I'll show him these photos and ask him - why didn't you want to ride in a baby carriage?
But I understand the grandson's problem. He is very uncomfortable sitting in his clothes in the car. I remember my childhood feelings when my parents put me in warm clothes, but we are still standing in the apartment and did not go outside. This is terrible!
We reached the end of the fairground, drank a little hot berry drink, watched the girl take a selfie against the background of the carousel, and walked back along the GUM building. All the passages were closed. Only the entrance from Nikolskaya Street was working. That's where we went.
What is GUM? Once it was a very popular large department store for visiting people. There were a lot of people here. Now it is often called a museum. Why? Because this store has very expensive products, high prices, but everything in the store is very beautiful! People come here just to see the beauty inside the building. But that's another story, it's a story for FridayMarket.
Well. I wish all my friends, observers, and readers wonderful walks on Wednesdays. And also on Sundays and any other day!
