At the very last minute, I'm back this week for this contest. Since we just saw them live last week, I'll go with Linkin Park and for me their most iconic song: One Step Closer. Not exactly the 90s, but the very early 00s. The energy this song always gives me is incredible. I know critics sometimes accused Linkin Park to simply surf the Nu Metal wave without originality, I am not sure it's true but even if they did, they did it very well with great tracks, full of raw energy, and their unmistakable mix of Bennington's singing and screamed lyrics, along with Shinoda's rap. And now, Emily Armstrong is bringing her own style to the mix. Anyways, great song from the early Nu Metal wave, and that 'Shut Up when I'm talking to you' line will always make almost anybody get up and start head banging!
