Infrastructure is very important in every nation, it makes the nation conducive for its citizens. Thats why during elections of a nation, you will hear the aspirants say a lot of the things they'd like to put in place when they win but then in my nation "when they win, they think the other way round".
In my nation, there are a lot of areas that need infrastructure, talking about the bad roads " my nation is number one" talking about electricity "least" talking about good hospitals in the rural and urban areas "nothing" and then what about government providing pupils with a proper school environment "nothing, imagine students going to school and no teachers to lecture them, I overheard in a conversation that most teachers have stopped going to classes cause the wage bill can't sustain them talk more of spending it on transportation to the school.
The one major infrastructure that is needed in my locality is " good roads" A few weeks back, someone traveled from Bayelsa state to the city where I was based, the person took almost the whole day before getting to the city I'm based when I saw the person I was a bit confused on how a journey of less than three hours took the whole day, then she explained the conditions of roads to me.
Well, at first I didn't believe it cause she took the whole day to arrive at the city I was based in and that shock alone couldn't make me accept what she said. Recently I decided to visit my city cause it had been a while since I visited home, so I went to the park with the mindset that in the next three hours, I'd arrive in my city.

I went to the park quite late, then I sat inside in the vehicle for some minutes before the vehicle took off, when the vehicle finally took off, everywhere was smooth till we left the city and entered the main road leading to my hometown. Then it got to one spot where the road was very bad, the potholes could even make a pregnant woman lose her pregnancy "Hehe if that's possible".
We stayed at that particular spot for hours, at that moment I was frustrated and tired at the same time, I didn't know how to keep my body cause I was becoming restless. Finally, the vehicles started moving slowly, I was a little bit excited " thinking that was all" but I didn't know the party just started and more potholes were lined up in front of us.
After a while, the vehicles started moving slowly again and it was getting late, at that moment my siblings started calling me. That was how we were moving from one pothole to another till I got to my destination, when I checked the time, I couldn't believe I spent that amount of hours on the road. On getting to the house, I told my siblings about my whole experience on the road and how bad the roads were.
When I'm traveling I expect the roads to be in good condition, so I won't experience any unexpected problems but then these roads aren't properly maintained. Good roads make traveling easy and painless for everyone. I wish the government could intervene and make these roads conducive for us to travel, these roads scare me from traveling cause imagine staying on the road for more hours than usual.
