Quite an interesting topic from the Hive learners' table this week for the third edition,-TRAVEL BLOG. Let me just dive right in.
My most recent travel experience was in febuary, this time i had gone to ekiti state for a friends wedding, to think i have beeen saving little by little for this trip, it was a really eventful travel exprience because it was my first time there, i was also hoping to meet up with some friends i had made over the years, so the plan was to leave my house as early as 6 am to the bus park, which would be like an hour journey max and then arrive at the bus park and be out of there before noon. Well it didnt go as planned, i had gotten to the bus park at around 7 am and thankfully i had a good seat in the middle and the space contaned only three persons which i like, and it was comfortable, i really did like that about this, because when you say a travel was enjoyable, it starts from being comfortable in the bus or whatever mode of transportation you are using.
One thing i did on this journey was slept for most of the journey, i think i slept for about 3hours or so into the trip, well it helped me think straight after i woke up, now my trouble didnt start here, but when we got to the outskirt of the state i was going to, the driver had to deliver some goods to people, so he had to stop on many occassions and this delayed the journey more, another thing i noticed is that whenever we got to where there were soildiers check point, the women in the bus would ask us youg people to keep our phones, so we dont get stopped, i really didnt understand, until i heard one woman started narrating a story on how they were stopped on her last trip alll because a girl refused to drop her phone and thry ended up being searched one by one at the check point, i knew after that story narration, when we got to other check points, nobody asked us to dropp phone again, we did that ourselve.
After the driver delayed after waiting for whoever he had to deliver package to, we continued and when we got to a particular stop, i knew it wasnt my stop but the driver said that was his last stop, and i was like, NOOOO, you cant tell me that, so he had to move forward because i wasn;t having it, he dropped me off at my stop and i came down.
Now another journey of 10-15 minutes was to begin, here was where I experienced first hand what they called being packed like sardines, the taxi was supposed to be for 4 persons, but we ended up 7 persons, and i was like, OOOOOOOO, sir this place is tight oooo, the other passengers then told me that's how they do carry, yeee,i just kept quiet because I knew that my complaining already made it known that I was New, to think one girl carried cake, Ahhh!!!!. i just didn't complain again, and I sat still, my mind was that the trip wouldn't be long, and truly it wasn't long at all, and I was free in no time.
When next I travel, I would want a different kind of transportation if possible, maybe by Air, that would be very convenient, and it would also be a very swift and fast journey that one is very sure.
