Hi, good morning and welcome to my blog.
Population, no doubt, has been in the rise over the past decades. While this partly could be a great news for the health sector as it signifies a reduction in maternal mortality rates, it also poses a challenge considering the economic impact on the country but most importantly on the family. There is currently a rapidly growing global population and deteriorating economic conditions.
The economy of the country currently Is nothing to write home about, the constant inflation of goods and services has become a noose on the necks of citizens, tightening it's ends on a daily basis.
It's a cool thing should we are considering the government placing an incentive just to curtail the level of family size but in reality, does it look like something that will ever happen? Our government have lots of unaddressed pertinent issues they are yet to do, things that are very important to the citizens but yet to be done, how then do you think they will ever put the family size that's affecting the country into consideration when the bulk effect of that family sizes affects you, who is the breadwinner of that family, it affects you who decided to be a chicken, giving birth to children above what your payroll can afford.
Don't know what it really is that gives people the mind to bring into this world, 10 children whereas you are earning below a 100$, it's not fair at all, not to the children and not to you too. Gone are the days where the number of children were said to be beneficial because of the agricultural benefits of having bigger number.
Rather than waiting for the government to place incentives, I rather prefer the government sponsoring lots of education on the masses to let them know how exponentially their family size affects their suffering and subsequently threatens their survival.
I for one, will believe that most people that breed children aren't aware of the challenging strains it puts on them and that's why I believe that education will go a long way rather than incentives, but should such incentives placed, what exactly would be the consequences?
From the economic standpoint, overpopulation leads to unemployment and poverty. The limited resources in the country will put a strain on the government as they even struggle to provide basic amenities.
From the workforce standpoint, let's take China for instance, they had one-child policy though now three, the periods before this was revised to three children is still creating an impact in their population today as they struggle with workforce population as they have more of aging citizens and gender imbalance too.
From the environmental standpoint, the lesser the population, the better the natural resources are conserved, reducing the impact of deforestation for cooking fuels and water scarcity amongst others
In summary, no one is a kid and some might even view the incentives for smaller family sizes as infringement to their human rights, that's why I believe that education will be a better option rather than incentives.
Let the masses understand the consequences of having big family sizes and then allow them make their decision.
Thank you for reading and have a nice day ahead
