Tough times never last...

Money makes the world go round, what happened to me, made me realize that in whatever you do in this life try to have money, in a legitimate way though. Money gives respect, it gives you the appropriate and maximum respect you need.
I'll be sharing a little about the story of my life, there was a time that I was so broke or let me say poor to the extent that I almost loose hope completely, It was as if life was ending and like I'm not even trying at all.

Okay it started like this, when I was still in school, everything was rossy, I was feeling like a king, infact I have some people who told me that I should not worry about getting a good job, they said the will sort everything out for me. With this I feel a little bit relaxed, you know that feeling when you have the confidence that everything will be sorted out.
Though I was still studying hard and doing some petty hustle during weekends.

After NYSC, that was when I faced reality, all the people that promised me jobs started giving me all sorts of excuses, I got tired of their excuses and it's so obvious that it was all a vain promise so I don't even bother to call them again, I have to face life squarely.
I started looking for job here and there, I couldn't find a good job except teaching, teaching is the most available job any graduate can easily get as far as you can teach, there was no option, so I have to start from there. I was collecting $10 per month which I still have to remove transport fare, so at the end of the month after the plus and minus I'll be left with a little change. Well it's still better than nothing, that was what I usually use to motivate myself and keep myself going.

Unfortunately in the year 2020, there was covid and that was how the story changed completely, every institution had to close down except hospitals and maybe food vendors too were working temporarily then. Before I was complaining that the salary was small but now there's no salary again, I have to start living with the little money I had saved while working.

So during the whole covid time I was jobless, but in order not to be regarded as a lazy Nigerian youth I decided to start learning a trade, in the process of learning, the covid stay at home law was lifted and everybody starts going out to perform their daily activities like before, but this time around I don't feel like going back to teaching, I felt that if I could learn the trade so well, I'll earn more from it compared to teaching, moreover I'll be the CEO of my company.

But during this moment things were so hard, sometimes to get transport fare to my place of work will be a problem not to talk of money for food, things was becoming harder day by day, that I started regretting quitting my teaching job. But after few months someone made mention of a job vacancy in teaching service commission, it was a teaching job but this time its with the government not the regular private school teaching. I applied and then after all the examinations and interview, I was among the selected ones that got the job.

Few months later, I was chatting with one of my course mate back then in University, he told me about hive and then the rest is history.
During the time that I had no job, I nearly saw hell, I nearly start begging people for help before I could load airtime on my phone, yeah it was that bad, but before it got to that, my story was changed for good, even though I'm still chasing the bag but I'm not where I use to be. A lot has changed about me, not the regular man some people use to know. I learnt a very important lesson after all that happened that tough times don't last but tough people do, if I had given up I wouldn't be here today.

THANKS FOR STOPPING BY.

For most Nigerian youth and graduate, after NYSC is when reality usually dawn on them, because that's when you're meant to be on your own and fend for family.

It's normal for people to give empty promises, but I'm glad you were able to scale through everything from lockdown to getting a job and then hive.

Yes oo the real life starts after NYSC, no more allawe lols

Yeah thank you, I'm glad I was able to scale through, thanks for the help also.

That was not a good experience at all. Thank God you survived NYSC, covid and now you met Hive. Tough time changes men.
