Hello everyone in this awesome community
I hope we are all happy a great new week
It's not a overstatement that Growing up without one or both the parents can have a profound impact on a child's life.
It's a serious thing, the child can be affected in many areas of life.
The absence of a parent can affect a child's emotional(their feelings is so much affected), psychological(How they think and Behave), and social development( how he or she relates to people and connecta with people), shaping their worldview, relationships, and future.
I really have to give kudos to every single parents out there, it's not an easy task at all.
I remember when I was in university, there was one lady that had a son, at first when she became pregnant, she told her Boyfriend about it, and how she didn't discover on time that she was actually pregnant, the boyfriend rejected all the way to accept responsibility for the pregnancy, the lady was just in 200level then, while the boyfriend was in final year, after the boys refusal, the issue escalated because the girl's family refused abortions that it's against their beliefs, the matter reached the community head and their verdict was that the boy will take full responsibility of the pregnancy, since he was the only Man that Lady knew as of that time, so it was agreed between the two families, immediately after some months the Lady gave birth to a twin, two beautiful baby boy. Almost around that same time the boy finished from school and totally ran away with no trace, the girl was so stranded with minimal assistance, until some of us in the school fellowship, stepped up to contribute some amount to her frequently.
I can tell the kind of Stress parents go through to raise kids, in this lady's example it was double, having a twins at that kind of time in the school, means a lot of care must be given, money must be so much involved, assistance at all levels must be given.
One thing I love about to the lady is her Perseverance and hardwork, she never dropped our of school, instead she started selling clothes and jewelry in school and students patronised her so well, she was popular known as mummy twins.
Although I am not a parent yet, but I have had several experiences of people affected.
The Effects of a Missing Parent
Whenever a particular parent ( wether the father or mother is missing in the child life), It can affect the child emotional, psychological, and social development, leading to:
- Emotional instability and anxiety
- Low self-esteem and self-doubt
- Difficulty with trust and intimacy
- Increased risk of behavioral problems and mental health issues
- Academic and cognitive challenges
There are millions of children around the world who are growing up without a parent. Some have lost a parent to death, others to divorce or abandonment. But regardless of the circumstances, the pain and struggle are real.
But despite these challenges,me I have seen many children who grow up without a parent go on to lead happy, healthy, and successful lives. It's not easy, but with the right support and resources, it is possible, just like in the Case of Mummy Twins, I share earlier.
