Hello Everyone in this awesome community
I hope we are all doing great,
Health is Wealth, many overlook this short but very profound quote, the last time I went to the hospital to check someone really changed my mindset.
So I rarely get sick, maybe it's just luck or maybe because of my body metabolism, but the day I get sick, it is hell, I mean all hell breaks loose, my body would start to malfunction uncontrollably, if I can remember the last time I really went for check up was early last year, I think around the month of February last year, that's almost one year from now, that's pretty terrible of me though, what really happened then was that I was having some sharp pains in my stomach and was feeling fatigued all over my body.
As an hustle that I was, I thought it was just my usual tiredness so maybe after some minutes of resting my body would be back to it perfect condition, but it only got worse, I couldn't even swallow food well and I had difficulty using the toilet too. This was just 3 days after finishing our Annual 21 days fasting and prayers in my Church (Living Faith Worldwide).
After a week of playing around with medicines without doctors prescription and things are actually getting worst, I decided to go to the Hospital to check myself, as usual there were a lot of people waiting to be attended to and the whole place was so jammed packed with a lot of people at the hospital reception, I had to buy some cards and other payments before they can even listen to me, it was quite a terrible experience. At the of the waiting , I was told to come back the next day because the Lad Guy is not presently at work, very frustrated as I was, I had to drag myself back to my house.
The next day I finally had series test that worth up to #60,000, medicines not included, at the long run it was detected that I have Chronic Ulcer and a little typhoid.
I regretted not visiting the Hospital for check up on time.
After the Guy gave me the list of Drugs I am to buy, I can't really remember how much was spent on the medicines but it was quite a terrible experience.
One thing I learnt about this experience is that it's better to check your body often, not when you are feeling sick you go for medical checkup.
So I live in a country where you have to hustle like your life depends on it, and work very hard to sort out your daily needs.
Nigeria is a country that is blessed with mineral resources and blessed lands that could be used for various agricultural projects. We are Richly blessed but we have bad government that fail to utilise it so well.
Our Health sector is not very much catered for, in fact our politicians find solace in travelling abroad to get proper medical care and checkups instead of being in Nigeria here, I want to believe this is why they don't invest more in the country health sectors.
One thing I learnt about my last experience is that it's better to check your body often, not when you are feeling sick you go for medical checkup. Go to trusted labs, if your hospital is too expensive.
