My Decision Making Act

in Hive Learners6 days ago

Hello Everyone,

I've been in situations where I've had to make life-changing decisions, and it's not always easy. But over time, I've developed a personal approach that helps me navigate these challenging situations.

I remembered when I first finished my NYSC in Benue State, I didn't feel stranded of confused, instead I had a system built down in my heart, I built a mindset and thinking patterns that really helped me out during the difficult times. Some critical time like that, needs a critical approach so as not make a Rather Bad decision that will cause a lot of damage than good. Most of the Time, My plans, goals and values must align with the decisions I'm making.

Here's how I make decisions that align with my values and goals:

My Number one step is Defining My Priorities.

For me, identifying my top priorities and values is crucial. I ask myself the following questions:

  • What matters most to me?
  • What are my non-negotiables? (Things that are optional or can i easily get an alternative
  • What kind of person do I want to be?
  • What kind of life do I want to lead?

By answering these questions, I gain clarity on what's truly important to me and can make decisions that align with my values and goals. It's like having a compass that guides me in the right direction.
For example after finishing my service in Benue state, I immediately ventured fully into buying and selling of orange, I started following one of the major orange seller and middleman. Just right there I started reaching out to people I messaged before concerning getting jobs around the state, please note that before I finished service, I already made some move quickly even before I completed my service here in benue state.

Another big step is: Gathering Information
Whenever I am faced with a big decision, I seek out diverse perspectives and information. I talk to people I trust, read relevant articles and books, and consider different viewpoints. This helps me gain a deeper understanding of the situation and potential outcomes.

I remember when I was considering a career change. I spoke to people in my desired field, read books and articles about the industry, and even attended networking events. By gathering information, I was able to make a more informed decision and avoid potential pitfalls, see the truth is that nobody is an island of knowledge.

Weighing the Pros and Cons
I make a list of the advantages and disadvantages of each option. This helps me visualize the potential outcomes and identify potential risks and benefits.
By weighing the pros and cons, I can make more informed decisions and choose the option that best aligns with my values and goals.

Trusting My Instincts
While data and analysis are essential, I also trust my instincts. If something feels off or doesn't feel right, I'm willing to explore further or reconsider my options. Trusting my instincts helps me avoid decisions that might not be in my best interest.

Considering the Long-Term Impact
I think about the potential long-term consequences of each option. How will this decision affect my life and relationships in the years to come? Considering the long-term impact helps me make decisions that align with my long-term goals and values.

Seeking Guidance
When needed, I seek guidance from mentors, friends, or professionals who can offer valuable insights and support. Seeking guidance helps me gain new perspectives and insights that I might not have considered otherwise.

Taking My Time
I don't rush into decisions. I take the time to reflect, weigh my options, and consider different perspectives. Taking my time helps me avoid impulsive decisions and make more informed choices.

Staying True to Myself
Ultimately, I prioritize staying true to myself and my values.
By staying true to myself, I can make decisions that align with my values and goals, and live a more authentic and fulfilling life.

Finally an in conclusion: I pray to My Heavenly father
I am a full time believer, a Christian that would always talk to God, ask God questions, await to here from him,
There is no better advice than the one the Holy Spirit gives you, the path of God is the True path.
So even after following all these steps God has the final say
