This reminds me of a lady who travelled to Dubai on a two year work visa as an housekeeper. While she was there, she was sending money to her mom for keeps. She planned to come back after two years to open a very big shop and she could only trust her mom to keep her money safe.

When her visa expired, she got back home to meet the biggest shock of her life. Her mom spent most of the money on frivolities. She couldn't recoup a hundred thousand naira. How does one deal with that?

For me, family and business should never cross path. I've lost count of how many times I've borrowed a family or a friend some amount of money and never got back a single lobo of the money. Nowadays, I'd rather give whatever I can afford.
